A Hidden Gem with Deep Roots - Nomlas Cafe Tucked away on Julliard Drive in Sacramento, Nomlas Cafe is more than just a coffee shop-it's a community institution. Serving Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee for nearly 30 years, it's easy to see why this place has such staying power: the drinks are exceptional, the food is flavorful, and the vibe is unmatched. I visited with my wife, and we were both blown away by our drinks. I had the blended dark chocolate mocha, and she tried the coconut cold brew. After just one sip, we knew we'd be coming back the very next day-and we did. We also grabbed one Jamaican beef patty on that first visit... big mistake. It was so crispy, faky, and packed with flavor that we couldn't stop thinking about it. Natugally, we came back the next day and ordered four. The cafe itself has a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. While waiting for our coffee, I noticed a schedule of events posted on the wall. It's clear that Nomlas isn't just a place to grab a drink-it's a community hub, regularly hosting events and serving as a gathering space. We love supporting places that give back and create space for connection. Honestly, the only downside is that we don't live closer. If we did, this would easily be our go-to spot. Whether you're a coffee enthusiast, a lover of Caribbean flavors, or just someone looking for a place with real heart, Nomlas Cafe is a must-visit.

We got an iced latte and an iced coco macchiato. The coco macchiato comes without coffee, so we added a shot. They offer a choice of milk, and we both got oat. Both drinks were delicious. The beans are imported from Jamaica, and you can buy them by the bag. They're expensive, but quite good. We drank in the back room, a cozy multipurpose room with a stage and lots of seating. It would be perfect for a get-together with friends or family. Overall a delightful experience, we'll definitely be coming back.

A nice little neighborhood hole in the wall coffee shop. I tried their Mocha Frappuccino and a banana nut muffin, and enjoyed them both. The only negative in the whole experience were the Google Maps directions - this place is right behind the La Cabana restaurant off Folsom Blvd, but Google took me through the flea market parking lot and back alleys. Now that I know where it is, I will certainly be back.

I had a pour-over Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee here, and I loved it! After a few sips, I felt, “This is it — The Blue Mountain!” The flavor was full-bodied in a bold way that I’ll describe it as masculine. It had just a bit of acidity — not much but noticeable — and a beautiful sweet aftertaste.

The two ladies there were welcoming and we had a nice chat. The café itself was very clean — a highlight for me! I’ll definitely come back with family or friends. This is a hidden gem and I’m so glad we can enjoy great blue mountain coffee...

The latte was unfortunately not very well made, either the beans were ground too fine or the dose was miscalculated resulting in a bitter, burnt coffee. On top of that the milk was overheated by quite a lot. If you like your coffee sweet with a lot of syrup you may like it but if you want a well made latte this place is not it. Atmosphere was ok, had the TV playing some news in the background. Felt more like a dental office than a coffee shop. Unfortunately I won't even be able to finish my coffee and can't...
