40 years of horrible service. I've never had to leave a negative review for a place because I like to look at the bright side of restaurants.
This place is hyped up through the roof so I had to go try it. I've been wanting to come here for a while. I'm going to be honest, the location is bad. It is in a rough area. The building is cracked and looks old. The views are across the street is a train track that has a large homeless camp. They also have a very small parking lot. I did however love the homey feeling inside and the overall ambience. A true mom and pop shop feel.
If I could leave a review for the food only? It would be 6 stars because the pizza does live up to the hype. It's really good pizza. The flavor is intense. My only downside with this establishment is their poor customer service.
Our server was busy and did not get to give us the right amount of attention. This is understandable when it is busy. However, we were left alone for half an hour or more. My wife ordered a dish by accident and did not know the pasta had anchovies. She misheard the server and thought the pasta had artichokes. A very simple mistake, but understandable nonetheless. The server and manager were very uninterested in helping finding a solution. We were met with attitude and misinformation towards our transaction. We asked if we could return the dish since it wasn't up to our expectations and they stated we still had to pay for the dish. We left the plate at the end of the table so we could take it home and feed to our pets since it was food for animals but it was taken to their back. We weren't given the option of taking the food that we ended up paying for home. We didn't touch it, didn't eat it, didn't pack it home due to its awful odor.
Never have I been to an establishment that does not have a basic sense of understanding towards the customer. If a $20 plate is going to break the bank for them, they have bigger problems to deal with. Their arrogance has cost them a returning customer. I would not recommend spending your money here or the other locations if they treat their customers the same. Don't bother eating here when One Speed, Pizza Supreme Being, The Federalist, and La Trattoria Bohemia exist.
Bottom line/TLDR: BEWARE OF...
Read moreMy girlfriend was getting her nails done nearby and I noticed this place. It looked interesting and I love Pizza so I came in to give it a try.
I love the interior, it brings me back to my childhood. It isn’t dated, more like a call back to a simpler time when you would go out and eat with your family as a kid.
I ordered the 1-topping pizza with Pepperoni. The total came out to be about $18 - BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT!
Here’s the details: Crust is crispy and delicious. Flavorful and tastes home made.
Pepperoni had a good spice to it, and wasn’t overly greasy.
The cheese pull was amazing, and there is a lot of it but I love cheese. Any 90s kids who remember the cheese of 90s cartoons pizza needs to come here. This is the goofy movie pizza you’ve dreamed of.
The red sauce is fantastic. A bit tart, and not overly sweet like chain restaurants. This is an actual SAUCE - it makes a huge difference.
Here’s the only reason why I knocked it down a star. I’d give 4.5 if I could:
Customer Service Maybe it was because I was one dude getting a pizza for myself, or that there were bigger groups to serve but the service felt cold. I could see the server having good conversations with other customers but he seemed to give me the cold shoulder. I’m not sure what it is. He seemed like a nice guy. Maybe it’s just me.
Other than that the location was clean, nostalgic, and the vibes were good. Great place for the family.
This is the best pizza I’ve had in sac. Better than Luigis, better than old world, better than Zelda’s, and FAR better than any chain you’ve been too.
Update, 5/18/23:
This is my second time here and this is now my favorite pizza place in Sacramento!
Everything has such a unique and REAL taste to it. I’m not sure what they do with the dough but it is so flavorful.
I ordered the Margarita and Spring Lamb Pizza. Both were delicious, the Spring Lamb bring a standout dish.
Compared to last time, service was much much better. Very friendly, helpful, and warm. My server was welcoming and kind.

Read moreIt’s a Saturday evening (11/4) and the family is hungry. This place is near our area and thought we’d give it a try. The restaurant is located in a weird spot and parking is a bit limited in the front and in the back shared by several businesses. We got lucky and grabbed one of the last parking spots when we arrived which was around 6pm or so. We were able to get a table no problem for a party of 7. The place and atmosphere is inviting and cozy a 5/5. Our server was great. Friendly, polite, and not overwhelming. We didn’t have to wait too long to get our food after placing our order, maybe within 15 minutes or so. So service is a definite 5/5. The food presentation is as good as any pizzas I’ve seen in other places so a 5/5. The pizza is heavier on the bread side though as others have said. I personally prefer my pizzas to have less bread and more toppings but it’s a personal preference. The taste was good for a local eatery here. Not over seasoned or over done either. Definitely enjoyable. Even though the taste did not disappoint, I’ve personally had much tastier pizzas elsewhere so I’d give the food a 4/5. It's a different experience. We probably spent about $175 for the evening that included salad, beer, pizzas, and cannoli. Value to price ratio is about a 4/5 for a pizza dinner. Overall impression is a 4.5/5. Definitely recommend folks to give this place a try. It’s good food. The place gives out a good vibe, warmer feel, higher quality experience than your traditional Mountain Mikes or Round Table Pizza. Would definitely return. Find this review helpful? Give it a...
