Title: Mixed Experience at Sai Varee Thai Food
I recently had the chance to dine in at Sai Varee Thai Food after falling in love with their basil fried rice through a delivery service. While I was excited to try their food in-person, my experience turned out to be quite mixed.
On the positive side, the spicy chicken I ordered was absolutely delicious. It had just the right amount of kick and flavor that I had enjoyed during my previous Uber Eats orders. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the basil fried rice I ordered during my visit. It seemed to fall short of the mark, perhaps due to miscommunication or a misunderstanding of my preferences.
However, what truly overshadowed my dining experience was the service I received from the server. I felt rushed and uncomfortable throughout my meal. The server seemed impatient and didn't provide me with the kind of attentive service one would hope for when dining in. To make matters worse, I wasn't even offered a drink menu, which left me feeling overlooked and disregarded.
It was evident that the restaurant was quite busy, and while I understand that being busy can be challenging for any establishment, it shouldn't result in a compromised dining experience for any customer. Regardless of whether one dines alone or with a group, every customer deserves the same level of respect and attention from the staff.
I couldn't help but feel that my presence as a solo diner was somehow treated differently, as if I didn't matter as much as other patrons. Discrimination or not, this kind of treatment is a major deterrent for me when considering whether to return to a restaurant.
I hope that Sai Varee Thai Food takes this feedback constructively. The potential is there for an excellent dining experience, with great food and a welcoming atmosphere. It's crucial for the management to ensure that their servers are well-trained and capable of providing exceptional service to every customer, regardless of their background or dining preferences.
In conclusion, my recent visit to Sai Varee Thai Food was a mixed bag. While the food had its highlights, the disappointing service overshadowed my overall impression. I truly hope that the management takes steps to address these concerns and works towards creating a more inclusive and enjoyable dining experience for...
Read moreThe atmosphere is nice and cozy, however, the food we had was underwhelming. The mango curry had no color to it and it was sadly bland. You couldn't tell what the ingredients were (is this a potato, a mango, tofu?) due to how everything was the same color (minus the carrots). I also don't remember the mango curry having potato in it. It felt like the wrong curry was made and the chef hastily added mangoes to it.
I asked for Roti, but wanted to know how much roti was in a serving. We weren't given a clear answer, there may have been a languag barrier. I asked for three Roti and was given three servings. So us and the waitress didn't communicate clearly. We wanted pieces not servings. Three servings is a lot for two people.
The roti was incredibly oily. The flavor was oil. You can see in the photo how oily it was.
We felt like the waitress knew something was off because she looked sheepish and shy when she asked how everything was.
I was bummed the food was basically inedible, I've been here before and enjoyed it. Maybe they have a new chef? We went...
Read moreThis is my favorite Thai restaurant -- food is very fresh and with authentic seasonings -- family and i usually dine at lunchtime 😋 My 1st somewhat unpleasant experience: Restaurant was staffed with only 1 server for 10 dine-in customers 😖 The 2 of us were greeted and sat down at the table. It took 10 minutes for us to receive cups of water and to have our order taken. I truly felt badly for the server -- he is taking phone orders while cleaning up tables/serving dishes. He seemed stressed indeed. . .we chose to change our order to "Take Out'! Still, it took another 30 minutes for our 3-Entree order after he served Dining patrons and gave out phone To-Go orders.
REALLY? This is a popular Thai restaurant and you only have 1 server at Dinnertime? We ordered Pad Thai Beef, Thai fried rice w/beef, and Cashew Nut Chicken. One note -- the beef was chewy; otherwise, the dishes were all very tasty! Server was apologetic and smiled as we left. I will continue to drive 45 minutes to enjoy the Best Thai food here -- but, at...
