I went in on a Saturday morning to buy my retired parents a few treats to have w/ their coffee. My total was a little over $5 . The service was great, and everyone was friendly . However, they were encountering several issues processing my debit card. I was told repeatedly that it was THEIR machine and server not my card. After waiting almost 20min for them to troubleshoot the issue to process my card, they decided it was simply not going to work. They apologized while simultaneously taken my baked goods out of the bag &putting them back in the case. 20min of my time was wasted. I remained pleasant & patient and I don't understand how it made no sense for them to offer to compensate me for the inconvenience. It could have been a free cookie or a 20% off my next purchase. Telling me basically sorry our machine is down please walk out empty handed and return with cash next time was the basis of my experience. They are baked goods! Not clothing or jewelry. I could have been taken care of. It was $5 worth of pastries. Your business would not have gone bankrupt by letting...
Read moreMy husband ordered my birthday cake from there this year and it was terrible! At first I was excited because it looked beautiful! But the cake was dry and the strawberry creme filling tasted so artificial and chemical like they use some kind of candy syrup to flavor it. Not fresh or natural at all.
Recently I was driving by and sitting at the light on Weiss and saw their delivery truck unloading. I realized why the cake is so bad! They order Rich's brand FROZEN prebaked layer cakes and cupcakes! I used to work at Kroger bakery and that is the same brand they used for their layer cakes which are less than half the cost of patisserie.
I was shocked to see that they used premade frozen products because I had been told by workers when I had been there previously that they baked everything fresh. To be dissapointed in a cake is one thing, to be LIED to and told it is fresh is just bad business. Especially when they charge triple the supermarket prices for the exact same cake based on the fact you think you are getting a fresh baked, higher quality item. Never...

On Saturday April 13th, 2013, we went to this shop to have a cup of coffee and desert, ordered our stuff and sat down at the tables provided. To our astonishment we were kicked out of the store and told the store was closing. We didn't get an warning, and my dad, who is on Oxygen, and was just settled in his chair, had to get ready to move a gain.
Needless to say, this wasn't a relaxing experience, nor did we experience any hint of customer service you would expect from a business.
This could have arrived at a different outcome if the manager at the time would have had more sense to either give us a warning that the store closes promptly before we ordered, or would have given us a five minute warning. Would you go to a restaraunt 15 minutes prior to closing, order a dinner, and accept a carry out box with your dinner in it and said they were closing? I wouldn't. This what happened at Horizons Patisserie.
I won't...
