Alas, the trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan had to come to an end. So the boys and I began the long drive southward. Having to drive across all of Michigan, we knew there would be a point where our hunger for good food would need to be satiated. This restaurant was chosen by happen chance. While our initial impressions were far from optimal, the place quickly and sudenly turned itself around. We had walked in around late mid-day, with a few people coming in and out to enjoy the buffet on their lunch break it seemed. The quiet and empty place had weird accents. Like a picture of the Great Wall of China, and a painting featuring pandas. Perhaps this place was a Chinese restaurant in another life? The waiter was a little awkward, but kept a genuine smile on his face during our visit. Now, I'll get to the good part. We ordered samosas, naan of all different flavors, chicken, rice, lamb, and pork, all cooked in different fashions, some with thick creamy sauces, others fried with a drizzling of a thin sauce. These were not for ourselfs individually, but to share amongst one another. Something we recommend you should do if you are to visit. Let us go down the line, starting with the samosas. These mighty fine appetizers were vegitarian. Normally, we don't order vegitarian meals, in fact, some of us scritly order food that contains meat just to "stick it to the man." if you were. But these samosas just about changed our lives. The veggie fillings were done to perfection. And if you were to top them with the provided sauces, you may just reach Nirvana. As much as I'd like to go into the details for the rest of the meal, no amount of text will be able to describe the excitment felt by our tastebuds as our tounges were blessed with the presence of this restaurant's food. It was a shame we had snacked on Doritos and Pop Tarts in the car as we couldn't fit all the food into our stomachs in one sitting. However, on the upside, the naan and leftover sauces carried very well for the remainer of the trip and continued to keep our stomachs topped off. Even though we may have of angered the chefs in the back by asking them to make stuff not included in the buffett, they sure can make...

The very first time that I ever went there, honestly I didn't like it at first because everything was so spicy! But now that I know u can tell them no spice, everything is so delicious that I can't get enough of! I've tried their Chicken Sagg, Mang9 Chicken, Butter Chicken, Coastal Shrimp Curry, Garlic Naan Bread, lemon rice, on top of other delicious food that they have. I definitely would recommend this place. I give this place 10/10. The staff are so friendly and are never rude. Me and my husband are regulars. We LOVE this place so much!!! U get alot of food for what u pay for. They never disappoint! And if ur into drinking their "Taj Mahal" beer is good too, and I'm not even a beer drinker! Babush is the most friendly waiter that I have ever met in the whole and tire state of Michigan. Thank you Shahi, we will definitely be looking forward to visiting u again. Read moreHands down some of the best Indian food I've ever had. I've lived in Chicago for the past 15 years and whenever I'm in Saginaw, I order takeout. Always fresh, always delicious and is served in large family size portions!
Update a year later: I am not sure what changed but I went here yesterday and the service was so insulting. There was only one person dining when I went for pick up. I waited around 10 mins before the waiter came to check me out, even though he saw me standing there and even though my food was sitter right on the counter. When he finally came over to, he didn't say a word just looked at me and I said " This is mine" and handed him my debt card. Still he didn't say one word after I paided. I asked him if there was new ownership because I was such a different experience and he said "No same owner"- which is the only thing he said to me the entire time I was picking up. Maybe it was a bad day for him. Anyway the food was still divine. The service was just...
