I love Kookaburra Coffee so much! The flavor and strength of their espresso really gets me going! I just love their aussie pies for a nice bite to eat. It's a tough decision between the Sweet Potato & Feta or the Veggie Coconut Curry pie when those are available, but there are many more to choose from! I enjoy the side of local datil pepper sauce offered with the pie so much I always ask for two! A slice of their Vegan Banana Nut Bread or a Vegan Pumpkin donut is a wonderful treat for my tastebuds. A good day for me truly starts at the Kookaburra. I like to share this place with friends who have never been. My day seems brighter with a 12oz or 16oz iced Honey Badger in hand!🐨

Update 5/30/2023: I stopped in to this fav coffee shop of mine about 30 mins before closing. I was in the mood for a Hot Aussie, my current favorite coffee drink of theirs. When I also ordered a Veggie Coconut Curry Aussie pie from the few they had left from the day, I was informed it was half off its usual price! Yes! I never knew that after 4pm each day their scones, muffins, donuts and pies are 50% off. Wow! I am floored. I will certainly keep this in mind! I just adore their Vegan Banana Nut Bread and Vegan Pumpkin Donuts made in house every day! Unofficial Kook hack. You're welcome!!

Thanks Kookaburra. You rock the...

We ventured here on our way into St. Augustine. I had been craving a coffee all day and what better way to enjoy one than at a cafe hailing from Down Under.

The first thing I noticed was how welcoming and polite the baristas were to us. They were happy to answer questions and give suggestions. Even as more customers arrived, they treated them with the same respect and kindness.

I prefer coffee shops that make their own syrups as they make the coffees taste better and show their dedication to the art of coffee-making.

To my joy, this place not only makes their own syrups, but recently released their house-made Pumpkin Spice syrup. Even Fall in Florida deserves a slice of authentic pie and this did not disappoint. My latte was the perfect beverage for a cool day. It wasn’t too sweet and the sprinkle of vanilla spice on top added to its perfection.

My fiancĂŠ enjoyed a cafe au lait with the loveliest steamed foam and hint of sugary sweetness. The chocolate dessert we shared was a unique combination of an Australian chocolate bar, caramel and chocolate on top. I thought it would be way too rich but surprisingly it had the right blend of ingredients to give it a...

I love Kookaburra Coffee. I have it a few times a week depending on my route. I rate it as the best “coffee” in town. They disappointed me this morning though. I was next in line to order. However, one of the workers walked up and refilled her own cup with the last of the drip coffee, and they didn’t have a back up. They were going to make more, but I had already been standing in line for 10 minutes and was now running late for my appointment. It just felt very unprofessional. Granted I’m in a terrible mood because I haven’t had my coffee yet, but maybe if the barista was working a bit more efficiently and running a little less on good vibes, the situation would have been avoided. Not sure if I will return to this store again.

UPDATE: I have since returned. The quality of the coffee is just too good to pass up. Although I am still unhappy with this particular experience, overall this is an excellent coffee shop with very...

For a local coffee shop chain, Kookaburra has figured out how to do things right and give the big chains a run for their money. The coffee is fresh and they have a great variety of drink options. Their baked goods are good too, especially the Aussie Pies. For those of you unfamiliar with Aussie Pies, like I was, they are small individual sized pot pie style baked goods. In the morning they call them Brekkies and they are similar to a quiche but with a top crust too. They have several flavors to choose from, but be sure to get there early or order ahead because they are baked fresh daily and they sell out fast. The same is true of their lunch pies, which on this trip we unfortunately missed out on because we didn't get there before they sold out. No worries though, because we will definitely be back.
