Bourbon Shores Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

Last night my boyfriend and I decided to try this place as it was close to home and we pass it often. Once we got there the server asked for our drink order which was 2 titos with sprite. She asked tall or short to which we responded short. 2 talls were brought. No big deal though, we enjoyed our drinks and looked over the food menu. We went to order the broccoli cheddar bites, but our server kindly informed us that they were out. Also no big deal.

We proceeded to order food. My boyfriend ordered a bourbon melt with another drink and I had ordered chicken tenders. His bourbon melt came out first and we were told that the tenders would be out shortly as they take longer because they had to hand bread them. I figured I’d wait to get another drink until my food was out. Unfortunately, I didn’t have food or a drink the entire time my boyfriend ate his meal which was probably another 15 minutes. Once he finished, a different server came up and asked if we wanted to cash out. He had mentioned that we were still waiting on another order and she looked kind of shocked. She sent our original server back over who told us that she didn’t know what happened and someone must’ve taken them from the counter. She said they would have another order up in 3-4 minutes…. My boyfriend had a clear view of the food window and said from what he could see, not a single basket of tenders came out. On top of this, how can you make hand battered tenders in 3-4 minutes when we were just told they take while for that reason. Trying not to think too hard about it, another 10 minutes went by and they finally bring the tenders out. They looked extremely rushed and unappetizing. So unappetizing that my boyfriend refused to try them as well. I wish I took pictures because I honestly, without any exaggeration think those were the worst chicken tenders I have ever had. I had eaten less than half of the basket as they were soggy, chewy, and very oily. The server didn’t even ask how they were probably because of how much was left or how visually unappealing they were. We did watch her take them to the cook and show him (not sure what was said between them).

I typically never expect a meal or drink to be comped or discounted, however, this time I was kind of hoping for something other than “sorry for the wait” which is all we received. I was excited to try somewhere new, but I was highly disappointed with our experience. The place has some potential, but I truly think there are better...

New owners are doing great job. Can’t wait for more great updates. Great food especially Cajun chicken pineapple sandwich highly recommend. Waitstaff very friendly and attentive. I would also like to address couple bad reviews unfortunately google review doesn’t allow to comment under a review so there it is: So Marissa Gray calling people on Google review trashy it’s classy according to you? So instead of notifying the management and addressing your issue and concerns you decided to bad mouth the business and its employees. So how about be a decent person and give some pointers and feedback to new owners so they can correct the issues and make your local bar succeeded. Also Liam Mcquade although I do understand that maybe your food wasn’t to your liking I pretty sure it got comped and management was trying to make it right by you. What I don’t understand how you think is ok for one grown man your father calling another grown man a homie and be surprised he took it as an insult. I don’t know about others but I find that to be very disrespectful. So instead of bad mouthing new business that’s trying to succeeded and do something great in our wonderful city of St. Clair Shores try to have little compassion and lift them so they can succeed and you can have great neighborhood bar to hung out at. So I wish new owners great success and keep up on doing great work....

Absolutely the worst experience. A few of my friends decided to go here as we celebrated Saint Pattys Day. The girls uber got to the bar before our husbands. As soon as we ordered our first drink, we could all tell that something was off. The owner kept pointing over at us and pulling the bartenders aside. We immediately got ID after ordering our first drink which was fine. We start to notice there is no alcohol in any of our drinks. The guys showed up shortly after this, and began ordering their drinks. NONE of them had to show their ID, and all of their drinks tasted like doubles when they weren’t. After a couple of the husbands brought this up to the owner as we were leaving, we found out that the owner thought the girls were all under age and told his staff to not put alcohol in our drinks, and the bartenders admitted to it. We paid full price for the drinks and there was no alcohol in it. No, we were not drunk coming into this bar. I wish the girls would have said something sooner because how can you charge full price for a drink only to not have any alcohol in it. Claiming that we are under age , but all of our IDs clearly show we are not. Horrible place and will...
