Sharkey's Bait Stand — Restaurant in Saint Croix

Sharkeys used to be real good. They used to have good tasting food and service...however after Hurricane Maria the service has sucked and we've been there 4 times since. We decided to stop patronizing them after visit #3 post Maria but it was our son's 10th birthday and he loves their wings and didn't like that we basically blacklisted them so we celebrated his birthday at one of his favorite places.

We spend approx $90 each time we visit and the wait for food has increased tremendously. Imagine waiting 45 mins for a hot dog as that's what one of the kids wanted. 5 of us total and at times 3 finished eating their meals while 2 haven't even received theirs however people ordered after us and received their meals before some of us.

Tonight, food was slow which seems to be their new norm and the waitress was better but still wasn't the best. I rate her at a 6.6/10 but the fried shrimp was apparently soaked in salt cause I'm sure my pressure went up after forcing myself to eat it. Also it seems like there's no more free refills on soft drinks and we ALWAYS got free refills regardless of the waitress but tonight we were told refills on soft drinks have never been free.

We gave the waitress a $5 tip as I couldn't not give her anything but waitresses need to know that tips are not mandatory...she could've gotten $10-$15 or even $20 if she gave exceptional service. Sorry Sharkey's but 2018 and beyond...will not find us patronizing your establishment. And...

If I could rate this place Zero or negative stars I would. Went there and no one said a word about seating or anything. Sat ourselves and the two waitresses that seemed to didn’t care about anything but To go orders didn’t come to our table until we had to stop one of them 30 minutes after we sat down. She was relieved we didn’t need a menu so we placed our orders and then she was gone for another hour. She did stop by to tell us that she don’t know what they have available to mix drinks so we may or may not get our drinks. So back they go to filling to go orders while the dining area is full of people. So another hours past and we asked about our food and of course the attitude kick in like we bothering her. Wait or cancel was the choice so we say wait then she come back and say they about to START our order. That’s when Kelly get on the mic and say they closed everybody out. Attitude waitress come out and say she not gonna charge us for the two drinks they did deliver. I was gonna at least leave her a tip but her tone and attitude was so terrible I chose not to. They need to shut this place down if you can’t handle customers. They took care of call in orders and had a dining room full of people willing to spend money with no...

I would like to rate it more stars as I love supporting local businesses. However, we placed an online order that said 30 min to complete. I went to the restaurant and proceeded to wait 90 minutes for our order. I tried to be nice and order a beer and even tip extra but to no avail. At one point one of the customers said something in the local langauge to the bartender/manager which wasn’t too nice but to be fair he said he was waiting an hour for chicken fingers. There was also someone else who was eating in the restaurant and was waiting more than a hour for chicken fingers and French fries. Once we got our order they forgot one of the entrees. When I called the restaurant they said oh it’s in the window you can come and get it. Unfortunately I was 10 min away at that point and the terrible mahi I ordered told me it wasn’t worth the trip back for the extra food. Chefs are terrible and lack any sense of urgency. Avoid at all costs, we definitely will not be going back. Especially after no legitimate apology from staff...
