If you’re looking for some Action Park style adventure this is the place for you!!!
They cruise you around a bunch of very bumpy, narrow, backroads. Taking you to a lot of great sites and vistas you’d spend all day hiking to.
The best part of the trip is definitely the Tide Pools. It’s probably an hour of hard hiking from any point to get there, and unless you have experience off-roading you probably shouldn’t try the drive yourself. That’s why Tan Tan is great! They bring you down and back up hassle-free and you don’t have to worry about destroying your rental car!!!
Watching a pig chug a beer at Dominoes was a treat. That’s where I stopped for a beer, but you can BYOB and drink the whole trip if you like.
Would recommend!!! If I come back I’ll probably be in a Tan Tan truck for the next trip to the Tide Pools.
Disclaimer: The driver was very experienced and I did not feel in danger at any point. That said the Jeep we were in did not have modern...
Read moreDrivers were good, jeeps were falling apart. By the end of our 3 jeep tour we had had to abandon 2 jeeps for mechanical issues (flat tire with no spare, blown front differential). Lack of spare was just one issue, also at least 2 jeeps had fuel leaks, there was no winch, comealong, shovel, bumper jack or even random scrap of lumber to free a jeep). Our tour group ended up lifting the rear of jeep and digging out front end to get the jeep free.
There was a tour after ours, the running jeeps raced to pick up the next group before replacing spare tires, sealing fuel leaks, or even retrieving the remainder of our group.
Video below is from the green jeep with fuel leak and flat tire (which lost a wheel on a recent tour) watching the one working jeep (with a bald rear tire) try to extract the jeep with the blown differential and fuel leak.
Also, we had to wait 40+ minutes after our scheduled tour time for...
Read moreMy husband and I visited St. Croix back in June for our honeymoon. We decided to go on the Tan Tan tour because it came highly recommended. We had a blast! The tide pools were outstanding, the weather was amazing, and the views were spectacular! Devron was our tour guide and I genuinely thought our tan tan might tip over during the journey but I would trust him again in a heartbeat. It was obvious he knew those roads like the back of his hand. However, I would not recommend this experience for someone who is heavily pregnant or people with any sort of chronic back pain or vertigo or motion sickness. This was one wild ride. Even my husband was concerned. The roads were not paved or level roads. We were on literal trails of uneven dirt on the edge of the island. That being said, it was well worth it, but I wanted to warn people in advance since it was...
