Saigon Deli — Restaurant in Saint Croix

Saigon deli is the best Asian restaurant on St Croix. Not fancy, but the real deal. It feels like you’re eating in your Vietnamese friend’s home. They make The MOST Delicious beef stew (more aromatic and soup-like). I usually get it with rice but you can choose from noodles or French bread. So Yummy! I also love their fried spring rolls.

Spring rolls were OK, shrimp fried rice was bland and tasteless. It also came with a weird sauce, it would have been better off coming with regular soy sauce. The quality of Asian food on the island is depressing really. I’ve had their pad Thai and other dishes in the past and wasn’t impressed. I think they shouldn’t Caribbeanize their stir fry’s and noodle dishes, it would be better if they were made in the traditional Vietnamese way, without curry or tamarind. Their prices are constantly changing, one day the owner is behind the register charging the prices on the menu, the following day the Vietnamese female cashier behind the counter is charging you double or triple for the very same order and is constantly in a bad mood.
