I took my parents to Savant tonight for their 56th wedding anniversary. This restaurant had good reviews online so chose this spot for our celebration.
We had reservations and were seated right away upon arrival. Our server, Yvette, was friendly, professional, and charming. She took good care of us. We didn’t order appetizers, we went straight for the main course. Our food came out in a timely manner.
This restaurant is like a hole in the wall. The inside gives the feel of a rustic quaint French restaurant. It feels welcoming and has a beautiful ambiance. There is an outdoor courtyard dining area that also has a marvelous ambiance.
We ordered Cassava Crusted Mahi, Churrasco Beef Short Ribs, New Zealand Rack of Lamb, and Chicken Savant Noodle Bowl. The Mahi was crisp, moist and flavorful; the coconut rice tasted good and was cooked well. The beef ribs and lamb were tender, moist, and delicious. All dishes were good but the chicken Savant noodle bowl was our least favorite. The chicken Savant bowl didn’t have a balanced noodles to chicken ratio. It tasted okay but had a weird smell to it.
The desserts were awesome! We ordered a slice of chocolate cake, rum cake, and coconut cream pie with toasted pecans. They were great portions and very tasty.
This restaurant is pricey though, so you will pay moderately for all items ordered. I was especially surprised at the cost of the desserts; it was $15 per dessert. That caught me off guard.
The ambiance and food along with the service received from Yvette made this visit worth it for us. My parents really enjoyed...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst experience I've had on the island. For starters our waiter Natty* was obviously having a bad day and boy did my table of 3 get the blunt end of it. First we had an 8:30 PM reservation that took 3 days of phoning the restuarant continuously...apparently Savant is only open from 6 - 10 PM but somehow we got a call back at 11 AM for a same day reservation. Yeah okay no problem. We get to the restuarant and Chris told us we have garden view so to walk around back to be seated. We were met by Natty who couldn't find us on his reservation list and took about 20 mins to seat us, tried to seat others who came like 10 mins after. Natty is soft spoken and in a restaurant playing nice soul music, no one in my party of 3 could hear him even after we said we can't hear you. Everyone else who came after us got their water and bread meanwhile our waiter was no where to be found We requested their "best dish," to which Natty said he doesn't eat anything on the menu so get what we want (LOL). I respect the honesty but idk as a waiter you tend to see what most ppl order The entrees were subpar, but the salad and desert was superb Unbeknownst to me, who has allergies, only those food were available. Not me placing my order and everything being met with (we don't have that - LOL) We called Chris who helped us navigate a meal that I could eat, excellent flip from speaking with Natty. Mayne about this guy...
Read moreMy husband and I were doing a fancier dress-up dinner one night on the island and this is the place we picked. I would definitely recommend! Our reservations were right as they opened so there weren’t any other tables when we arrived and we did opt for an indoor reservation where most people probably liked to sit at their outdoor tables. We had Angela as our waitress and she was fantastic and very patient with us. My husband doesn’t really like dressing up or going to fancier places but goes because I like them and Angela was very welcoming and patient with him and she never made him feel out of place or unwelcome and he really appreciated that. We both went there for items on their menu but opted instead for one of their specials and we were not disappointed. My husband had one of the steak options and he definitely enjoyed it – it was done perfectly medium, just as he had requested and had really good flavor. I tried the bacon wrapped wahoo at the recommendation of Angela and it was amazing! I had never had fresh wahoo other than in a fish taco but it’s way better cooked as a filet. The atmosphere inside was perfect for a romantic date night. It is a quaint little place with great service. If you like drinks, I recommend whatever their hibiscus mixed drink was – it was amazing! Also, the dessert is made from an in-house baker and we had the chocolate cake – it was huge but very good, enough to share between...
