I scoured the island for the bracelet I wanted, and ultimately was THRILLED to decide on Sonya's. Today, I returned to the store to purchase exactly what I wanted, but am knocking off stars for service. // I worked with the manager, who could not have gotten me out of there faster. I pulled teeth trying to make conversation, discussing the research I'd done prior in appreciation, and how excited I was to choose their art - but I was met with silence and disinterest. Meanwhile, the other sales associate was laughing and SO excited to size the customer next to me, I was sorry I wasn't matched with her to complete the experience. She was wonderful. // While half the purchase is the product itself, the other half is the memory you have associated with it. And for me (no pun intended) that memory has been "tarnished". I'd recommend their product one hundred times over, but hope the experience given by the manager doesn't reflect the company's core vision and values being carried on since Sonya's retirement. I wish...

After spending several days on the island if Saint Croix I had seen so many people wearing the "Hook" I finally asked a crew member if Lyric Sails about it. He told me the story about how his girlfriend grew up on the island and how Sonya had been making these bracelets for over 40 years and she's the original creater. Over the years it has become a symbol of relationship status. His girlfriend got him one. We were touched on how unique the Hook is and how it indicates if you're in a relationship or maybe looking for love. We had gotten engaged on the island only a few days prior so we traveled to Sonya's shop because we wanted the original to help us celebrate our love.
