The Landing | Food & Spirits — Restaurant in Saint Francis

I bought a Groupon for The Landing thinking I could stop by for lunch, hoping to order a sandwich and two beers while taking one sandwich to go. I arrived, sat down, and mentioned what I hoped to do; the man serving me promptly responded that the Groupon is for dine-in only. I looked at him fairly confused, because nowhere on the Groupon's page does it state that rule. I asked him again for clarification if it would be ok for me to eat one sandwich there while taking one to go, and he simply repeated without emotion that it's for dine-in only. With no way to use my Groupon, I just left.

I feel this policy is confusing in part because it is not stated anywhere before making a Groupon purchase and also because I WOULD HAVE been dining in along with taking food to go. Evidently, bringing a Groupon to the Landing requires that you eat all of your food in one sitting or toss it out - be prepared! No to-go boxes allowed. I thought the point of offering a Groupon was to bring new customers in to a business in hopes of keeping them coming, but this experience did nothing of the sort. I can't comment on the food, but I would not recommend going to the Landing if you're looking for a friendly atmosphere. Since I've already bought the Groupon, I suppose I'll need to go back someday with someone else so that we can follow their strange rules and actually use the money I've spent. We have been here on other occasions. The friday fish fry was amazing. We saw that they offered pizza as well so we came back try that. Now on new years day it was understood that the bartender was busy. But it took forever for her to get our order. Then after it was taken finally, 10 minutes later the kitchen starts smoking. 0ther people received their food already so we knew it was ours. The cook came out and was joking with regular customers saying he had it under control. Where we are sitting in the corner waiting over 30 minutes for a burnt pizza. No communication was given to us as to what was going on until about a minute before we got our food.
