Handel's Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in Saint George

I have heard so much hype about this place so my husband and I decided to give us a try.

We got 3 different flavors and honestly couldn’t tell the difference between the 3. The flavor of the ice cream was really bland compared to other ice cream flavors I’ve had from other places. I got the Chocoholic flavor and could barely taste it, when I expected it to be almost overwhelming in flavor.

The consistency was amazingly thick and very very creamy. That is about the only thing I liked. I am quite disappointed and honestly confused why everyone seems to like this place so much.

I wanted less ice cream but they told us the only way for me to get two flavors is to get a double scoop which is actually 4 half scoops, which doesn’t make much sense to me. Amazing flavors, rich and creamy ice cream. Definitely one of the top places in St George. I had never heard of Handel's but every time I passed by there was a line people. I took my wife here the other night and was pleasantly surprised at the numerous flavor options. Very creative with flavors like Salty Caramel Truffle, Graham Central Station, Cinnamon Pecan Sticky Bun and Lemon Bar. They also change up some of the flavors according to the season. I recommend any of the Cheesecake Chunk flavors. For those watching their waistline they also carry yogurt and sherbert. Anyone feeling nostalgic would enjoy their old fashioned thick shakes and malts. Service here was amazing. They have a mix of younger and older staff that are literally waiting in line to serve each customer as fast as they walk in the door. I would highly recommend...

We've been coming here since this location first opened, and 100% they've massively cut the amount of ingredients you get in each scoop. Previously, you'd get loads of toppings. Now, it's rare that you get much more than cheap grocery store ice cream has in it (see my photo for what I mean.) It's really disappointing and unfortunate because when you're paying this much for premium ice cream, you expect it to have a premium amount of the good stuff in it. We still think Handel's is the best ice cream, but until they add the quantity of quality solid ingredients back into their recipes, it's just not worth it.
