A challenger to best barbecue in town is coming soon! I was lucky enough to stumble on a tasting of Smokin’ Blues Barbecue. Although they are putting together a food truck, Frank will be at Tuachan’s farmers market this coming Saturday 10-2 October 7th introducing his bbq and regional based sauces. Being a classically trained chef, you can see his finesse in the preparation and smoking process. Light handed on both the smoke flavor and seasoning so you can taste the meat. We got to sample the pulled pork which exhibited this light handedness while still being tasty and moist without being greasy or fatty. It made for an excellent paring with his wonderful regional sauces. In addition to the pork, we got to try the chicken breast. Not a flat chicken breast but the full breast that had been cooked perfectly. Moist, but done. On the chicken, he showed off his skills in seasoning, with a well seasoned outer layer. Again any of his regional sauces worked well, with my favorite for the chicken being the Panhandle Texas sauce. My wife and both enjoyed the sampling, and with my Texas upbringing and her coming from Alabama, we love good bbq, this was great.

Excellent, I order the barbecue smoked chicken wing. The meat was very tender, and the falling off the bone. The chef’s honey spice barbecue sauce enriched the smoked flavors in the chicken. Well worth the price! This will be my Friday night take outs.Highly recommended to all Saint George’s population. You will love it GUARANTEED.

I enjoyed a brisket meal. The meat was cooked to perfection and I paired it with the Texas sauce which had a nice kick to it.

Got the chance to sample the BBQ wings and a BBQ chicken plate with greens, cornbread, and sweet potatoes. The wings were on point: juicy and plentiful. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy with a kick, but the heat didn't leave an after taste...nice The BBQ chicken plate was delicious. I especially liked the chicken; plump and moist, not dried out like some other BBQ place offerings. The corn bread was lifted with the addition of jalapeno pieces to give it a flavor kick. The greens were a bit on the salty side, but it balanced out the sweet potato side. Can't wait to see what else in...

We pulled into the Dixie Elks Lodge later in the evening, got set up, then realized, we hadn't eaten and/or planned anything for dinner. Just then, a kind man pulled up, asked us if we had dinner yet, and we replied no. He handed us a box of boneless bbq pork ribs and went on his way. We immediately dug in and we were not disappointed!! Absolutely delicious!!😋 They were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The bbq sauce had just the right tang and spice. Thank you for the amazing meal and for saving us after a long day of traveling! We will visit you again when we come...
