Upon entering the restaurant I was excited to try the food because I’m not from the area but was immediately left with a sour taste in my mouth. The host was anything but friendly - malicious and bratty would be the perfect adjectives to describe his behavior and nearly every other employees attitude and service in that whole entire restaurant. It’s difficult for me to understand why the host expressed such negative behavior towards us, regardless his attitude only worsened throughout my time at the restaurant and so did his colleagues. When the food was delivered to my table the server assisting our waitress slammed the food on the table, nearly hits one of us in the face with the plate, & throws it on top of silverware. My waitress was amazing and did the best that she could considering the circumstances (we were told it was busy) however it did take us about 20 minutes to receive cups of water and when we asked for a refill we asked another waitress who was cleaning up the table next to ours and upon our request she just nodded her head and returned to cleaning the table. Being a server for several years of my life - a good server would stop this task and help the customer that’s still in the business, not the one that already left the establishment. Waiting for more napkins and not having any water to accompany my meal while watching this woman lazily stack sugar packets not only irritated me but made me wonder how a manager would allow this sort of behavior to happen. As she was cleaning 3 more employees entered the cove we were in and began spraying chemicals and cleaning all the tables around us as they were going to close in 30 minutes. I understand wanting to leave work but pouring chemicals all over while people are eating is beyond foul. On top of this the same horrid host from the beginning came up to our table and asked us if we were about to leave in a very rude tone. At this point my party and I were excited to leave only to be stuck at the register with two more employees who displayed rude and negative behavior towards us because their POS system somehow broke the second we were paying but it prior to us the system was working just fine. I can safely say that I will never come back to this place again because the service was sinister and evil. The food was...
Read moreThis place came highly reviewed and recommended. Our visit was marred by a few factors that resulted in a poor overall experience.
Started off with getting seated and went downhill from there . We joined the lengthy wait, and got texted. Went to the counter near instantly, and the two ladies there both ignored our pleas while an insistent older lady who had just walked in and claimed to be us. They seated them right away.... After realizing their mistake, they seated us. But we got seated in a zone with an overly busy server in what I would call no mans (or woman's) land. After 35 minutes of waiting, i set a timer for myself to give up and just walk out... With 30 seconds to spare, we finally got some attention.
It continued to be arduous and painful from there. Death by thousands of seconds, one at a time. At least another 45 minutes elapsed before we had food in front of us. The belligerent older couple that had impersonated us was gone in less than hour which only added to our pain… We had a front seat show to the experience that should have been ours.
The food was decent and solid, but far from being worth well more than a 2 hour dining experience. 2 hours of my life crawling at a snails pace that we will never get back.
A million dollars isn't what it used to be, and I'd rate what seems to be the the star attraction - "Million Dollar Bacon" - at only about half a million in todays dollars. Lazy Dogs Bacon Candy on a bad day would take the million and then some if it was on relative scale.
Our server was quite nice, but clearly overwhelmed and given a section bigger than she should have been assigned. The two young ladies staffing the front with the wait queue seemed pretty incompetent and a large part of why this is a 2 star review. They failed and set a series of badness in motion.
This was on my must visit list in planning our adventure which had us going thru St George. It won’t be again.
In the lengthy wait for our text in the queue to be seated (or not as it turned out) we visited the Mexican bakery across the lot. We had planned to go back to get breakfast for the next day, but this experience put us way behind Next visit thru I’ll just go straight for the bakery. If you value your time, you might want to...
Read moreI want to preface this review by saying we love First Watch. We are regulars at this location and also visit the locations in Phoenix when we're there. This is the first time we've had a bad experience. Knowing it was going to be a busy Sunday morning crowd, we joined the wait-list online and arrived 5 min later. Checked in with the host and was told the wait would be another 15-20 min. 20 min later, I checked with the host again and was told actually the wait was 30-45 min. We almost left, but the host found us a table and seated us. After placing our breakfast order, it took almost 30 min to receive our food. Excitedly, I bit into my eggs and sausage patty and was shocked at temperature of the sausage. It was ICE cold. Did they forget to cook it? The pancakes were cold as well, which led us to believe our plates were sitting in the kitchen for a very long time. A different server came by after seeing our faces and asked if everything was alright. We explained everything was cold and the plates were taken back to the kitchen. Our waitress finally came to talk to us, apologized briefly and said the kitchen was remaking both meals. We waited patiently as we watched tables start to clear out and plate after plate come out that wasn't ours. Fifteen min later, our plates emerged from the kitchen. One was missing 2 eggs (over easy) and we were told they would be coming out shortly. Another 5 min later, the eggs came out, and they were barely cooked! I know we ordered over easy, but the egg whites were still CLEAR. My husband ate them anyway, not wanting to wait another 5-10 min for new eggs. The waitress came by and told us they would take care of the bill. The host (perhaps the manager?) also came by and apologized and restated the bill would be taken care of, and he'd like us to give First Watch another chance on a day it's not crazy busy. They did the right thing, which we appreciated, but boy was it a disappointing experience. We definitely won't be back on...
