Hi-Ho Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Saint Joseph

HiHo Bar was a great experience. My wife and I have been there twice. Both times the service has been stellar with the servers and bartenders checking on my wife and I many times before needing anything else.

The place is full of eye-candy with sports playing on many large TVs in the bar area. There was plenty of room to move around and I didn't feel crowded.

I had the old man pizza and it was really good. After the meal, and I was heading back to my car, I saw the cook and asked if he made my pizza. Told him it was one of the better pizzas I've had. Said he substitutes jack cheese with spicy jack cheese. The old man pizza had jalapenos, too, so it had the right amount of kick without being too hot.

My wife had the HiHo burger and she said it was a little overcooked. They serve the burgers and sandwiches with house made chips, which are really good. The burger came with all the sides, but she had to ask for condiments. No big deal.

Like I said before, service was good. Multiple bartenders and servers were on us. It will nice to have multiple people watching over us. Seating is fast and I've found the bathrooms to be generally clean during my visits.

There is parking on Frederick avenue and I saw many people, mostly take out customers, parking out front and using the front door go in and out of. We parked out back where there is more street parking and a huge lot just for the bar. There's also a backside entrance.

Tried calling on three different days got no answer. Finally i tried again today since more of st joe was reopening. Finally got to place a order to try and sgow support to local bars suring these difficult times. Its not much only like a $25 order but, ever bit helps. So i placed my order the lady on the phone said it take about 15 mins and asked what type of vehicle i was driving to pick up order. I showed up about 20-25 mins later and sat in front of the bar for another 20 mins and watched 2 different people, empkoyee and maintenance person, walk in and out the door both looking right at me. Waited another 5 mins then i left. Since it appeared to me that they didnt want my business. Then go to a different place to get food and they call me as this place is bringing my food. I answered and lady asked if i had placed a order about a hour ago. I said and i sat outside for almost 30 mins and no one come to help me. She then seemed discussed and said something rudwly and hung up. I generally dont write reiews i just deal with whatever happens but, kinda stuck a nerve. Local mom and pop bar & grill. It's been in business for a number of years under different owners but always have had great food and service. The current staff is phenomenal.

My favorite thing is to find a comfortable table to watch the games from with friends and order several of their appetizers and a pizza. It usually takes a while to decide each time because all the appetizers are stellar. I tend to lean towards the Irish Egg Rolls, their Crab Rangoon and the fried green beans.

Burgers are cooked to order (really) and they have some combos already figured out or you can create your own. Being an Irish bar, they definitely have the Ruben down as well as a local favorite, the Scrappy Beef Sandwich. Tender roast beef, carmelized onions and pepperjack cheese with house barbecue sauce grilled on thick Sourdough.
