I’ve never posted a review before but what I witnessed today absolutely demands it.
I visited the St. Joseph, MI location and witnessed one of the most unprofessional, verbally abusive displays I’ve ever seen in the food service industry. A young woman was trying to use what appeared to be a valid coupon, and calmly asked the manager to explain why it wouldn’t work with her order. Instead of explaining, he repeatedly told her to “go read the sign,” while getting increasingly aggressive. From what I overheard, her order matched the terms clearly written on the coupon, but he refused to engage respectfully or clarify.
He then launched into a full-blown tirade mocking her, asking “Are you stupid?” and “Why can’t you read?” right in front of about seven customers.
During his rant, he was so distracted and angry that he started carelessly throwing food around behind the counter, including my sandwich, which he put in the wrong bag. The customer he was berating had to open the bag, check the order, and hand it back to me. He even threw multiple extra sandwiches into her bag without noticing.
She ended up crying in front of everyone, humiliated over something that should have been handled with basic respect. I felt awful for her and just left with my sandwich.
The manager loudly said, “Go to the Stevensville Subway then, they’ll say the same thing we’re owned by the same person.”
Well, I will go somewhere else. I used to visit this location weekly, but after witnessing this kind of abuse, I won’t be returning here or to Stevensville. No customer deserves to be treated like this. Completely unprofessional and...
Read moreOnline orderers beware! I use Subway quarterly for catering of a meeting. I use the online ordering feature and have never had an issue. In January 2023, I ordered $180+ in catering. First, when I went to pick up the order, I was asked to pay. Payment is requested through the online ordering platform. I stated I had paid online but the cashier said the order said it had not been paid, so I paid on-site. Then, once I reached my destination, every sandwich was a cold cut combo. I had ordered (2) create-your-own sub platters. Each platter was supposed to have a turkey sandwich, ham sandwich, colt cut combo, spicy Italian, and Italian BMT sandwich. We received the correct topping platters and side items, but it was disappointing to have all the same sandwiches. Finally, received my bank statement today and was double charged -- once online and once at the store. When I called the store and spoke to the manager, I was told, "I don't know what happened, but I can't do anything about it." And then told to have a nice day and CLICK. So I proceeded to call the online catering company used through Subway's website, and am still in the process of having the charges reversed. What a mess! I understand mistakes happen and I have been thoroughly happy using Subway's catering in the past, but to be told "SOL" with no resolution? Very poor management and...
Read moreThis was by far the worst sandwich I have ever had from a subway. The bread was hard, there was hardly any meat on the sandwich. Like if you were to take one slice of roast beef deli meet and stretch it out, you would have more meat than what was on my sandwich. It was supposed to have double the cheese, there was not. I asked for extra sauce, there was just a dribble. The only veggie I had put on there was spinach, and there was maybe 10 small leaves. I also ordered 2 bags of chips and a drink for a pick up order. When I arrived only the sandwiches were waiting on the shelving, I had to wait to ask the cashier for a cup and grab my own chips. The service seemed like no one wanted to be there. Also, has anyone noticed that the Subway sign is gone, and there is a realtor key lock on the door? Is the place for sale/going out...
