Good morning - This is in regard to our experience at the Grand Ave store in St. Paul this morning (Sat. May 4, 2024), and also includes frustrations with previous experiences.
Long time residents of St. Paul, MN we are certainly missing the Brueggers presence at the former Highland Park (Ford Parkway) location. It fit the neighborhood and seemed to be doing quite well after decades in service. Request #1 - please bring this store back.
Request / Experience #2 as a follow up to our guest experience from this morning. Orders were placed in-store at the Grand Ave St. Paul MN location. Upon receiving our order, we noticed that one item was missing. The missing item was made in front of us to complete the order. Upon arriving home, it turns out that this was the only one correct out of our 4 items. The other 3 items were not what we had ordered. We believe this is a miss due to the change in order process in store (from ordering at the counter, to now ordering at the register). Customers lose visibility to the accuracy and completeness of their order. Now ordering at the register leaves everyone guessing and incompleteness / inaccuracy are very prevalent. This is not the first time this has happened, as referenced above. Our past experiences have been much more efficient and correct when ordering at the counter and paying at the register when complete, as this limits any possible confusion and order error. It is also a common observation that ordering at the counter and paying at the register also improves wait time. I'm sure it is difficult to manage this with online/mobile ordering. Please find a way to improve. Its disappointing as we love Brueggers, but if the guest experience continues this way - we are sad to find alternatives. We recognize there are now fewer bagel shop options in our community, however this could change over time as new dining concepts are common to this market.
Please do better, and do your best! A simple ask to Bruegger's corporate and the Grand Ave St Paul store management.

Read moreOK, so the people in the reviews who are talking this place down have no idea what they’re talking about. This is the best bagel in the Twin Cities. The inside isn’t rundown, it’s just moving all the time because of how good the bagels are. They never not have hot coffee on tap ready to go, and it’s clear the people with that experience has came when there were like 40 people there, because it is the best bagel in St. Paul and Minneapolis.
What makes the bagel special or the bubbles on the back of it, and how they toast them to ensure crispiness on the outside and also a great bagel boiled innards.
The owner of this place truly cares about it and has built a team up to scale for their demand because they are the best bagel in the Twin Cities! I’m a regular, I find myself there maybe once or twice or three times a week. This is not like me , but I find myself craving what they make and I’ve always been impressed. You’ll see them hand, make the bagels in the back room from where you stand, ordering, hand, boiling them hand, baking them all by hand.
Anyone who thinks the other top performers in the area like the Saint Paul Bagelry Are high-quality have no idea what they’re talking about and have never experienced a decent New York City bagel.
Highly recommend you check this place, order ahead if you don’t like the line, and personally, I prefer my bagels toasted extra, that way you get the incredible flaky crunch of the yeast bubbles. Also the jalapeño cream cheeses absolute fire.
You’re getting a lot of reviews from Waspy uppity types who live around the area who are Pearl clutching about lines and boxes in the foyer. It’s best that if have problems with it that you stay away too, and leave the...
Read moreIf you like waiting 45-60 minutes for a bagel in a filthy restaurant, this is the place for you! Aside from the whole store being gross, the service in this place is probably the worst I’ve experienced. It’s unfortunate because there isn’t really any other bagel shops nearby and their bagels are decent, but the last three times I’ve visited the wait times have been ridiculous. I placed an online order at 10:45am, it’s 11:30am and I still haven’t gotten it. I ordered one item. There are people nearby who have been waiting over an hour. I would be somewhat more understanding if it seemed like the employees were working hard to get the orders out, but half the time they are standing around laughing and talking to each other. And if you try to ask for an update, they will look annoyed and not bother acknowledging you unless you talk to them first. There is no apologies for the long wait either, they’ll just snap that “we have a lot of orders in front on you.” Consider turning off your order ahead feature if the wait is more than 20 minutes and training your employees in basic customer...
