We decided to pop in for a couple coffees to-go prior to heading to our son's soccer game at a nearby park. When I walked in I observed a handful of small tables with a few people sitting enjoying their drinks and a group of 4-5 that had ordered/paid and were waiting for their drinks to be made. There was only one barista behind the counter at the time (I imagine someone was on break) and their drinks took awhile to make...no big deal. The game was just up the road and didn't start for another 20 minutes, so I wasn't in a major hurry and I was the only customer waiting to order. 10 mins in and my husband (who had been waiting outside with our ansy pup), popped his head in to say he was going to walk down the block and back while I waited to order. Being a small place, his declaration naturally drew the attention of all inside, including the barista. When I turned my attention back to the counter, she (barista) was looking at me and I nodded and smiled.
Just as she was finishing up the last drink order for the group that arrived before me, another customer and his family entered the shop. The place is cozy and a traditional line was difficult to establish due to the placement of the tables and the group that was standing at the left of the counter, so the man and his family moved to the right of me. A moment later and the barista was ready for a new order...just not mine. Skipping past me, she proceeded to request the order of the man and his family. And now I'm out of time.
I had been standing in front of her for the better part of 13 minutes and couldn't reasonably understand how she missed me, especially when my husband had drawn attention to himself. The other customer motioned in my direction and she just stared blankly. Out the...
Read moreI recently had my first experience at Claddagh A Wee Coffee Shop, and I must say it left much to be desired. From the moment I walked in, I was met with cold faces from the servers. There was no warm welcome or even a simple greeting, which immediately set a negative tone for my visit.
One of the most basic expectations in a coffee shop is that you are informed when your coffee is ready. Unfortunately, this fundamental service was lacking at Claddagh A Wee Shop. I found myself waiting for my coffee without any indication of when it would be ready. It's a simple courtesy that should be extended to every customer, and it was disappointing to see it overlooked here.
Aside from these issues, I can't ignore the overall lack of hospitality and friendliness from the staff. A welcoming and pleasant atmosphere is crucial for any dining establishment, especially one that serves something as universally enjoyed as coffee. The absence of this warmth made my visit far from enjoyable.
In summary, while the coffee itself may be good, the lack of basic customer service and the unwelcoming atmosphere overshadowed any positive aspects. I hope that the management takes these concerns into consideration and works towards creating a more inviting and customer-oriented environment for...
Read moreI was always hesitant to stop in due to the busy location and lack of easy parking. But today I figured I'd stray from my trusty $tarbuck$ and support the local little guy. My Americano was weak and watery. And it was obvious the barista was less than excited to be there. Or serve me. Or maybe just having a bad day. Or maybe she didn't feel well. Either way...don't care. A mere 10 minutes in the door and I couldn't wait to leave. I love supporting the local guys, especially in my neighborhood...but not even the coffee made up for poor attitude and mediocre location. I don't foresee returning. There are many more small businesses are...
