This is undoubtedly one of my favorite spots to indulge in a fantastic meal. From the moment you step through the door, the warm and inviting ambiance sets the tone for a delightful dining experience. They serve an incredible Cajun breakfast that never fails to impress. On this trip, we couldn't resist the Cajun breakfast again, and it was just as exceptional as I remembered. The dishes are bursting with flavor, expertly seasoned to capture that authentic Cajun seasoning.
In addition to the breakfast, we treated ourselves to the crab cake Benedict, which was a revelation. The crab cakes were perfectly cooked nice and tender on the inside while boasting a beautiful, crispy crust on the outside. Each bite was a delicious balance of rich flavors and textures that left us craving more.
One of the standout features of this place is the generous portion sizes. You definitely get your money’s worth. I always leave feeling full and satisfied, which is a testament to their commitment to quality and quantity.
Our server, Bryan, truly elevated our experience. He was not only fantastic in his service but also impressively knowledgeable about the entire menu. He made thoughtful recommendations that enhanced our meal, and he was attentive in making sure our coffee cups were always full, even during the height of the breakfast rush. It’s a rare treat to find such attentive service in a bustling setting.
Additionally, the location is a definite plus, complete with a spacious parking lot that ensures a hassle-free arrival. There’s also ample street parking available, making it convenient for anyone looking to visit. Overall, this spot has a perfect blend of delicious food, fantastic service, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit destination for anyone craving a hearty and...
Read moreI am a regular customer at this restaurant, but I was so disappointed when my family and I stopped over for brunch (around 10:30-11:30 am) today. We had such a horrible service from Holly (the waitress) that I will sum it up as highly uncalled for, if not an utmost rude hospitality.
Holly slammed my coffee cup on the table; almost spilling it on me. She never came back to refill nor made an effort to do so during the entire service. Once again, she came and slammed our the food plates on our table; food delivered cold. I am confident the food was cold because we watched in amazement how Holly minded her own business as we noticed the cook line up food order on the countertop to be picked for the longest time after it was ready.
Understandably if a restaurant is busy, delayed food service can sometimes be expected, but it wasn't the case while we were there. Holly was not even tide up with chores I will deem pressing from my viewing point - she was just minding her own business. Her attitude toward us and other guests we peeked to compare our service with was similar: she was indifferent and perhaps upset.
Honestly, the cliché "left with a bad taste in our mouth" occurred for us. I never thought we will have such a poor service from Loiusiana Cafe. When I inquired if my order came with bread, Holly answered with a cut-throat response "No!" and then walked off. I am still kind of shocked. In fact, I will concede, this is perhaps the worst service my family and I have received from any twin-cities cafe...
Read moreWhat a disappointment!!! I live in a South Metro suburb, and whenever we find our way up in St Paul in the morning we try to stop at Louisiana Cafe for breakfast. It has been our go-to restaurant for the last couple of years. Sadly, this trip will be our last! When we arrived we found a booth with the restaurant being approximately one-third full. There appeared to be two servers working the floor. After a few minutes our server brought our menus and shortly after brought us our beverages. She was pleasant! Once we ordered our food she did not return to offer refills on our coffee until she brought our food. If she would have been busy we would have understood, but she was standing behind the counter some of the time. My omelet was overcooked...the eggs were dry and hard! The most shocking was the prices!!! I typically order the Cajun breakfast, but it was $16.50 without any meat. If I wanted to add the andoule sausage it would be an additional$6.75. Wow...that is a total of $23.25 for breakfast for one person!!! I know costs have increased, but this is ridiculous!!! We can go to the Original Pancake house and get a delicious OPH souffle omelette for $13.25 as an example! Their biscuits and gravy price was $16.50 as well! There are too many wonderful places to eat in St. Paul... Guess we will...
