The Best Steak House — Restaurant in Saint Paul

I came to this location because the one on White Bear Ave that I usually go to is closed due to a kitchen fire.

This location is terrible.

I dined in and everything is served in styrofoam containers?!!! As I cut into my steak, I was cutting into parchment paper under my steak and into the styrofoam container, getting a bit of parchment paper and styrofoam in every bite. Was not asked how I wanted my steak cooked. Steak cooked way over done. Also, nothing overly friendly about this place like other reviewers are saying. The cashier lady was nice n made small talk with me. But the cooks pick n choose who they greet. I wasn't greeted by them when I walked in or when I left, but I noticed others before and after me were. Not that i care to get greeted, but I'm pointing out that it's not 100% great friendly service like so many people have said in their reviews here.

The only thing good I had here was the ice water provided to me in a red solo cup 🥤.

You're better off going to Denny's or Perkins for steak than this place. Just the worst steak and sides I have ever had in a long time. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!STAFF DRINKING ALCOHOL DURING BUSINESS HOURS!!!!!! 3 CONSECUTIVE TIMES GIVEN WRONG ORDER AND REFUSED TO MAKE IT RIGHT!!! Being native from the greater east side, I have only been to The Best Steak House located on White Bear Avenue. I have heard of this location, so I decided to have dinner here to catch up with a friend & give it a try.

We were greeted immediately by the friendly staff, and the pricing on the menu was affordable. I had the steak/shrimp (t bone) while my friend had the NY strip. Both came with a salad, baked potato, and toast. We dined in which we were offered steak sauces and dressings. The restaurant had a great atmosphere with folks local, & the Wild's game was on the TV.

The food came out in a timely manner, and for the price we paid I think it was great - we are not expecting premium cuts with astonishing quality. Considering the costs of steaks alone purchased at a deli, its amazing for this spot to offer. I enjoyed the fried shrimp which included tartar sauce. The baked potato was good with the added sour cream and bacon bits. I loved the toast as it was buttered both sides, had a little crunch exterior, and soft in the middle. You get 2 toasts!
