My husband and I dined here last night. Our experience was very inadequate as to what we expected for this small quaint and intimate restaurant. On arrival we were seated immediately and within 10 minutes or so our waitress arrived and greeted us and asked what we would like to drink. We ordered water and a bottle of Pinot Grigio. We sat without our water or wine for about 15 minutes mind you it is extremely hot inside the restaurant, they seated us right next to the front door and left it open so it was hot. Our water and wine finally gets to our table and our waitress pours the water and my glass has dried lipstick on it so my husband asks for a different glass and we receive one almost immediately. We order our appetizer- Mussels in a white wine sauce and it was amazing we were both complimenting it every bite we took. We ordered our entrees after we completed our Appetizer, fast forward to 45 minutes later our Entree still hasn’t arrived and our waitress is nowhere to be found. When she finally comes by to refill our now room temperature water my husband requests for our food to be put in ToGo boxes because we’ve been there for over an hour and a half (we arrived at 7:45 for our 8:00 reservation and it’s now 9:45 and we have yet to eat our dinner) After another 20 minutes or so our waitress brings us our check without our food and proceeds to tell my husband- no rush they are boxing our food at the moment. She brings our food out to us we check it and it’s steaming and hot so I know the long wait for our food means they either forgot to make it & just made it before they boxed it up. Typically I wouldn’t complain but in this case the service was just so upsetting. We return home & sit down to eat our boxed to go dinner and it’s amazing, we loved it. I understand we were just two people and while sitting waiting almost the whole time there, 2-3 6 top party’s were seated & served while we waited. If you have 3 hours to spare for dinner this is the place to go. Otherwise look for a much better, more attentive restaurant...
Read moreThis is our 2nd visit to St Pete Florida . But first visit to Solo Bistro . We usually stay at TradeWinds resort. It is a nice 5 minute refreshing walk to the restaurant . If you are first time there try the ribeye steak , pork barbecue all the salads were great with impeccable detail to house made sauces and dressings finished with pomegranates . My favorite is the roasted eggplant . It’s a kind of place you have to try every single item in the menu . What sets this restaurant apart from others is the fine cuisine with wide variety of appetizers, entree and desserts . The service is excellent, the quality of the food AMAZING. From the appetizers to the entree and desert we finished everything we ordered. Quality of the food is impeccable . Even the veggies that are served as a side dish to the entre , which we usually don’t touch were so TASTY ...we finished every bit of it . Yum Yum !!! My little one who has been for the past 2 weeks on French fries , hot dogs and chicken tenders tried the delicious soups and pork kebabs and loved it . One happy mommy ! If you are in St Pete Beach your visit is not complete without trying this place . I would HIGHLY reccomended the place . We have found our restaurant . Thank you Solo Bistro for delicious late lunches and dinners . We will see you next year and every year...
Read moreWe have been coming here annually since their opening in 2015, so when we visited they happened to be celebrating their 10th anniversary. And a happy coincidence it was. Everything about this St. Pete Beach culinary gem is delightful; from the enticing and charming atmosphere, the eclectic and creative menu, enticing specials, an expertly crafted wine list, the congenial bar, and the professional and efficient service. My wife and I shared the pork terrine wrapped in pancetta stuffed with pistachios and figs: absolutely delicious. Next, we shared the 65-day in-house dry aged ribeye served with a wine reduction mushroom sauce, and roasted asparagus. It was a savory sensation; the sauce elevated the already magnificent steak to Olympian flavor levels. A bottle of 2022 Chateau Peyrat - a red Bordeaux from Graves - matched the entire enterprise beautifully with its rich complex fruit and silky tannins. Our server, Dillon, made us feel at home and served us with aplomb and grace, while the owner, Tig, saw to it that we were satisfied and welcomed, as he does with all his guests. Sola Bistro is worth every penny and a treat for the culinary soul. Highest...
