I grew up here and this beach is just like all the beaches along our coastline. It’s a nice beach, I also visit this beach at least once a week and sometimes more depending on the wind and surf. If I’m honest, surfing is the only reason I come to this chaos.
Some of these reviews are terribly misleading. Expect to fight for parking, it’s become embarrassingly cutthroat. Don’t think you’ll be able to not pay or slide for a few minutes. There’s a high tech monitoring system and the parking citation crew can go directly to the cars that haven’t paid up. Zero cares will be given. On holiday weekends expect to pay a flat rate for the whole day whether it’s Dawn or dusk and that includes the Friday before. Once you secure your parking situation you can expect that the beach overcrowded and walking through tent cities is the norm. Everyone has their own music music blaring, so it’s an eclectic mix of culture, which I enjoy because I can listen to it 200 yds offshore where I surf. It’s nice to surf to a good beat. There are some rocks to climb on and into as well as get cut up on. My kids love it and has made them great rock scalers. I’d like to mention this is NOT a good place to get shells and is NOT safety patrolled and the currents that run past here as well as the channel are very dangerous. People also need to watch out for boats speeding in and out of the channel. The deputy’s that “patrol” can’t drive through this mess even on four wheelers anymore. People do drown on our beaches, there’s no lifeguards anymore, watch your kids! If your still here, enjoy watching that beautiful sunset to someone else’s soundtrack. That’s a normal day at this beach. Seen it literally...
Read moreGorgeous hidden gem of a beach! Even my local Tampa friends who grew up in Clearwater said "where's that?" when I was telling them about how beautiful this place is. Extremely clear water, sugar white sands, not overly crowded, rock cove separates the beach on the end giving you the option for waves or no waves. If you wait till closer to evening, and low tide, it's a shell hunters delight! Stick around the sunset. It's absolutely breathtaking (and not overly crowded). Be aware, there's plenty of parking but it's not overly pricey. The bathrooms are located immediately off the parking lot and at the public beach entrance. There's a great little tiki bar, behind the restrooms, and before you walk the walkway to the beach. There's covered seating available for $40 for the day. But get there early - they rent quickly. Or, bring your own tents, coolers, umbrellas, and seating. There's plenty of room to spread out. No alcohol is allowed on the beach (but that didn't some we saw). There's regular beach patrol for safety. While there playing, no one messed with anyone else's belongings. We were able to leave our bags and items under our popup, and they were completely safe. But, as always, err of the side of caution and use your best judgment depending...
Read moreUpham Beach Park has officially stolen my heart! It’s hands down the most beautiful and relaxing beach I’ve visited so far. From the moment you arrive, there’s this sense of calm that washes over you. The soft sand, gentle waves, and open space make it the perfect spot to unwind, whether you’re there for a full beach day or just a quiet sunset walk.
Speaking of sunsets… they are absolutely breathtaking here. The way the sky lights up over the Gulf—it’s the kind of view you want to freeze in time. Peaceful, stunning, and never overcrowded, it’s my favorite place to watch the day fade.
A major highlight of Upham Beach Park is Paradise Grille. This spot is a true gem. Their food and drinks are delicious! Fresh, casual, and just what you want when you’re relaxing by the water. Whether you're grabbing breakfast, lunch, or a frozen drink, they always hit the mark. The prices are super reasonable, and the customer service is outstanding. Everyone working there is friendly, fast, and genuinely kind, which just adds to the whole beachside vibe.
If you’re looking for a beach that offers natural beauty, peaceful vibes, incredible sunsets, and great food & and drinks, just steps from your towel, Upham Beach Park is it!...
