Disappointing, not helpful, uneducated... I was excited to see the words "vegan and dairy-free" on the sign!!! Walked in and asked what the vegan option was. The lady behind the counter begrudgingly gave me a sample of their strawberry dairy free option, the only dairy free option. We were the only ones in the shop at the time. It tasted slightly freezer burnt, but I wanted ice cream and Baskin Robbins was closed and there didn't seem to be any other vegan options at any of the other ice cream shops. She was more than willing to let my friend sample all the regular ice cream flavors with much more enthusiasm. When it was my turn to order I asked for bananas, Oreos, sprinkles and nuts. She asked me twice if I wanted whipped cream, I didn't. Once I got my ice cream I realized the nuts are chocolate coated nuts... Likely milk chocolate but I didn't ask because she was obviously annoyed. In a place advertising "vegan" seemingly having zero education or care about those who choose to not eat animal products is very disrespectful. If this was a concern for an allergy to nuts it's likely she would have been more accommodating and educated than she was. Although being vegan is a choice, it's still a dietary preference that should be respected, especially if you have it advertised on your signage. If your vegan, dairy free, or have lactose issues i would suggest not going to this ice cream shop as you may end up with an upset stomach and an...
Read moreI got a cotton candy scoop, and I have to say, it was delicious! The texture of it was so good and it was all around just a great product! The staff on shift was also extremely accommodating and friendly with me, I think they said their name was Lucien! Although, whilst the positives are there, there are also negatives. I was sitting in with my family, and it was extremely busy at the time! And it looked like the poor worker was there by themself! I understand if you’re short staffed, but it’s labor day weekend! Everyone will be coming down to the beach and it will be extremely busy! I saw multiple people being rude to them, as well as HITTING ON THEM! I felt so bad for them in that situation, because there was nothing they could do! As much as this is a very welcoming place, the atmosphere didn’t accommodate well because of the fact that there were people as such there, and the poor worker being...
Read moreMy husband and I were visiting St. Pete’s and this establishment was recommended to us. When we went inside, they were offering free samples of pie. I asked the gentleman (the owner) if any pies other than the Reese’s had peanuts inside of them because my husband has a SEVERE peanut allergy. He assured us and said no. My husband grabbed an Oreo sample and proceeded to eat it. He immediately said, “This has peanuts in it”. We left and I gave him Benadryl and ended up going to the hospital. Upon leaving from the Hospital from an allergic reaction to peanuts, I called this establishment to give an update and let them know to be careful that the Oreo had peanuts in it. The owner got defensive and blamed us saying that we grabbed the wrong sample and stop trying to blame him. Not only is that bad customer service but horrible that it came from the...
