China Wok - Disston Plaza — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

I've lived in St. Pete; since there was still only one bar on Central St. and you never had to look before crossing a street. St. Pete consistently had the worst Chinese I've found anywhere in the US, for years..Till I came across China Wok. Best take out I've found by far. Ive been going there for years, and not once, have I had a bad meal. They are quick, and well priced. Ive made the mistake of veering to one of the many China Ones; around town, just because they were closer, and figured they can not always be bad..I was wrong..Especially the one on 34th, and 22nd plaza..Their food was so bad; I threw away $40 worth of food, as being ineatible..Never did that before.. So I will now drive the extra miles no matter where I am, for China Wok; where I know it will...

The best thing about their food is the egg rolls. I have had multiple dishes that are unsatisfactory. It is the closest Chinese place, so I have tried it a couple of times, but this time will be the last. I have had general tso chicken, garlic chicken, shrimp lo mien, beef and broccoli, and chicken and broccoli. I usually get an order of crab rangoons for the group. Seriously, out of everything I named, the only good thing was the egg rolls and I can't make a meal out of that. Their sweet and sour sauce isn't bad, though.

Service is quick with pick up, maybe it took the 8-10 minutes, which is good. They are nice and communication over the phone is easy. I wanted to like it. I have given it many chances, it just isn't good. I think I will have to make the trip...

Horrible place and careless service. I ordered shrimp lo mein today and specifically stated no meat (except shrimp) in my food. After taking the food i realized they added rice with pork meat into my plate... When i called for them to have another dish prepared for me... The guy suggested i just remove all the rice and the pork and that he will not replace it for me. I explained that the pork meat is all over my plate and he said there is nothing he can do about that...... No apology, and completely careless. If they dont care about this and this is how they habdle customer wishes... How are they preparing the food behind our backs? Obviously not with care!! absolutely disgusted by the lack of care. Will let everyone i know not...
