I am sorry to say that I've not had the best service experience with Boggs. I've had an antique gold pocket watch in with them for repair for 3 months. There has been very little communication from them after the first quote for repair. The only time they've communicated with me is when I called them first to ask what is going on/causing the delay. I believe that they sincerely have had difficulty in find the pieces for the repair but even when we decided to go with a modern timekeeping mechanism because of the parts issue, they did not get back to me with the quote they promised on it. When I left another message last week asking for the promised quote or if I could just pick it up in original condition, I have still not received a return call. It's a shame that I'm going to have to give a broken pocket watch as a Christmas gift when we have had more than 3 months to find a solution.
EDIT: After I called them again, they further explained the issues with finding such rare parts. When you get them on the phone they are very friendly and knowledgeable. I will be picking up the watch in its original condition, but they've promised to keep a look out for the parts needed and let me know if they appear so we can proceed with the repairs. Adjusting my rating slightly and crossing my fingers that they find something. I will give them...
Read moreI took my Citizen dive watch in to get a diagnosis and estimate for the analog portion of the watch. Mr. Boggs removed the back plate and showed me the three batteries and it would be $30 to replace the battery and $50 to pressurize the watch. I asked him to put the back plate on the watch because I wanted to get another estimate. He brought the watch back to me, I asked what I owed. He said I owed nothing, when I got home and I realized one of the screws securing the back plate was missing. I went back within 45 minutes and spoke with another employee. Mr.Boggs told me he put all four screws and tightened them. He said he didn't believe me, rather rudely, because I wanted to get another estimate and insinuated I went to the other shop between the 1st and 2nd time i visited his store. I retrieved my watch and told him I didn't appreciate his attitude and left. Mr. Boggs was rude and surly and I will not be going back to this store. The other watch repair store charged $20 for what Mr. Boggs wanted to charge me $80 for.
My apologies for the misidentification of the employee, there was no call for being rude and dismissive. I'm sure the owner would not be happy with the lack of customer service displayed by...
Read moreBoggs jewelers came highly recommended by a friend and I understand why. I had a tanzanite ring that had a lot of sentimental value and had lost the stone out of it awhile back. I took the ring in to Boggs Jewelers for an estimate to replace the stone. I was greeted promptly upon entering the store and everyone was so friendly. Adam took a look at the ring and had a fellow employee look at what it would take to repair it. They both took a lot of time in explaining what would be needed and why. Adam picked the exact color and quality of the previous stone. They told me it would be a week and a half to complete. Less than a week later it was done. I could not believe how exact the color and quality of the stone was. They nailed it perfectly. It is a pear shaped stone and not easy to replace but they did and did it perfectly. I just can't say enough amazing things about this company and it's employees and the level of service and care they provide. I would not think of going to any other jeweler. Oh, and the price for repair, beyond reasonable. Boggs Jewelers is absolutely the best! They have no idea how much this...
