Read moreThis restaurant is not vegan/vegetarian friendly. They falsely advertise items as being vegan/vegetarian, and have not made any effort to correct their mistakes.
I visited this restaurant a week ago with a few friends, and we all ordered the All You Can Eat menu. Before ordering, I specifically mentioned to the waiter that I was vegetarian, and to please let me know if I ordered anything non-vegetarian. The items were also clearly marked on the menu with a green leaf, indicating it was vegan/vegetarian.
The issue arose when I ordered the aged tofu. I finished most of the order, and gave the last piece to my friend, who immediately realized it had fish on it. He checked the menu and saw it was served with bonito flakes, which I looked up and learned was fish flakes. I was deeply upset, and let the waiter know what had happened. He was surprised, and asked another waiter to confirm that it actually was not vegetarian. He was also under the impression that it was vegan because of the green leaf next to the entry, which is why he couldn’t let me know it wasn’t vegetarian.
My friend asked for the manager, and one of the owners showed up. He compensated my meal, which was a good start, but I stressed that it was much more important that they update the menu so that other people weren’t misled in the future. He explained that he would do that, and that he was also confused, and that the owners and the waiter stood together baffled in the back, trying to figure out how this happened. I understood it was not the waiters fault, so I left a tip and left.
If they had updated the menus immediately after I left, I would’ve likely left 5 stars. I understand that mistakes happen, and can go unnoticed for years. The important thing is to make the best effort to make sure that mistake doesn’t happen. This is not the case. Over a week later, the online menu continues to list the aged tofu with the green leaf next to it, misleading waiters and customers alike.
If they update their menu and correct their mistake, I will update my review. But as they continue to be dishonest about meeting dietary restrictions, I can’t do anything but leave a 1...
Read moreMy family and I USED to be regulars here. We used to come here weekly/biweekly. On this particular day, we had a horrible experience. So if you’re a regular group of people, it may be normal for you to try a bite of someone else’s food. You know, just to see if you like it before you order the meal. Or maybe you only wanted a bite, but not the entire meal because you know you won’t finish it or whatever the reason may be. Eating one bite out of someone else’s food is not a crime. This was a huge problem for the staff, despite it never being a problem in any of our past experiences here. Our waitress was being very exaggerative and dramatic. One of the food runners gave a plate of my mothers food to my sister, and the only spot that there was space was next to me. This resulted in the waitress, and i cannot exaggerate this enough but her tone was just nasty. “Hey you didn’t order that! That’s not for you. You didn’t order it so you cannot eat it that’s just the rules. It ruins the entire purpose of the A la Carte.” Ma’am, you’re not gonna get an employee of the month reward. We explained that the food was simply placed there. The manager then came up to us saying we can’t share food and was also just being extra dramatic and my dad was just offended cause it’s not that serious. He told the manager to please get out of his sight out of frustration because we haven’t gotten nearly close to finishing our meal and were interrupted with so much attitude to which the manager got defensive and told us “I’m the manager here I am not gonna get out im gonna have to ask you to leave.” It was just very unprofessional and so exaggerated. We were like we weren’t sharing food and he was like I SEE THE NOODLE IN YOUR BOWL MAAM 😭😭😭😭😰😰😰😥 For more info, I wanted to try the udon noodle because I’ve never seen or tried one. God bless my soul for wanting to try out a noodle. So a singular noodle caused this big of a scene. It’s just...
