We were super excited about this restaurant as we have been vegan for a decade and have eaten at loving hut and lotus over the years frequently and were super excited to try World Vegan. Upon ordering our dish at 7pm they close at 8pm we found our food and the staff very under whelming to greet us. They seemed very lazy and our food was missing a few items as in Connor ask them for anything because they are not really wanting to help you. The meal came with little to no vegetables but plenty of the meat substitute. Being plant based and a plant based restaurant I was hoping to have more vegetables rather than one to two bites of veggies with my meal as i am not big on meat substitutes and certainly do not want to pay extra after the price tag being high after already being charged for the foods base price. I really feel as if this place could do better if they used better quality veggies as it really just would make coming back more of a thing for us. The sauce that comes with the buffalo cauliflower wings was not given to us and upon asking it seems we just got a cup of mayo. We had also ordered the nachos and the cheese sauce was just in a tiny small cup and could not even begin to cover more than a few nachos for the price tag being charged. Sadly we will not be returning as we felt this place did not want to accommodate customers only more so their own pocket book. Our order was a take out order. Location was not an issue. Same atmosphere as loving hut if you've ever found yourself in one they are pretty much the same everywhere even out of Florida as we do travel around the world and try all the vegan restaurants. I really hope this place puts a little more effort in for the customers to feel more welcome and with the food quality and quantity because we really need a vegan restaurant around the Tampa bay area to...
Read moreWow! I could not wait to write this review. The food was an unexpected delight, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and service was special. The owner DeeDee was so hospitable and kind to us from the moment we entered the restaurant. We had out choice of table. There was a beautiful infinity waterfall on the right wall so we decided to move closer to be by it.
We ordered the Golden Rolls as out appetizer. Theses were basically house made veggie spring rolls with a very fresh take on sweet and sour sauce (without dyes and artificial colors). 10/10
Spicy Soup- Broth was filled with flavor, hydrating and delightfully filled with spring onions. 10/10
Sweet Orange Dream- This dish was served with white sticky rice and tasted like a super elevated version of orange chicken. As someone who is newly vegetarian, I did not miss chicken at all! The homemade soy chikn balls were tasty and smothered in a super orange tasting sauce. We asked the owner what she used and she said she uses mandarins and tangerine juice to make the sauce. Heavenly and covered my craving. Very filling. 10/10
Dessert: There were many options. DeeDee explained that she makes the flan, banana cake, carrot cake and chocolate mouse truffles herself. She imports the cheesecake from NY (cashew based) and the zucchini bread is from a vegan bakery that her brother supports. We decided on the banana cake and we were not disappointed. The cake was dense, decadent and filled with lots of nuts and raisins. 100/10 ;)
All in all, its safe to say this will become a new favorite spot. She let us know that she is offering a new lemongrass chicken (all vegan) dish soon and we are excited to try it. She tries to make everything healthy and full of flavor so people can taste how good plant based dishes can make them feel.
Please check them out and support a...
Read moreGUYS I truly don’t know why/HOW this place has great reviews, idk if everyone that’s left a great review just doesn’t know what good food is or what?! I feel bad but I need to let the people know lol. The moment I walked in I knew but, none of us had been and we were trusting the reviews. 1. The pictures on the menu are 100% just from online they are NOT the same food items. 2. The menu doesn’t describe the food properly. 3. The food literally looked and tasted like it was grabbed out of a bag in the freezer and tossed in a microwave! No exaggeration we got the nachos and the cheese was 100% just cheese straight from a bag that they melted down and it tasted so bad, worse than movie theater nacho cheese. Then we got the bahmi style sandwich, beyond burger, sushi, and orange chicken (the safest options it seemed). The best thing we had was the sushi and the beyond beef burger (which as a vegan you know that means this place can’t be good since these are kinda hard to mess up). The orange chicken was lacking flavor and again just tasted and looked like it was reheated.
I always say a place that has too much variety in the type of food they serve 9/10 times isn’t going to be good and this is 100% the case. I truly wish the best to these people our server was very kind, but they need to just stick to one type of food and then improve it, they’d be...
