I really wanted to like this. I was trying to surprise my husband for his bday to Korean BBQ. he likes this kind of food. we get there and they looked closed to start with (the sign was off) we were able to walk in and get sat. I saw the little tables that you cook your food with so I was happy bc this is what we wanted. well we are seated and looking at the menu and nothing is marked off the list to notify they are out of stock or not serving certain things. I get it its been a cold snowy couple days and I understand you can be out of things. we couldn't even do the BBQ. either they no longer do it or wasn't for whatever reason. we can't seem to order anything I want. they have no soup, no crab ragoon, no beef bulgogi. i asked what do you have? we asked for spring rolls and she brought us egg rolls. its like she wanted to get what she could figure out. poor gal seemed confused bc she didn't understand a word needless to say this 4.3 stars they currently have is a lie. my hopes of having good Korean BBQ was shattered and will not reccomend or ever come back. good luck with your next meal. be careful they might be CASH only even though they advertise credit/debit. edit: the food was alright. but I would go back due to...
Read moreI was in town from Dallas looking for food. When visiting a town, I love trying the local eateries! Originally, I went to the other Korean spot, but they only took cash, so I came here. They have awesome customer service, but the food is just not up to par. I only asked for onions to be added to my fried rice, but I never wanted to omit the veggies. I'm 90% plant-based, so there would be no reason to omit veggies for me. She misunderstood my ask. No problem. She brought out a side of veggies, but they weren't the fried rice veggies (carrots/peas). They were mushrooms, carrots, and I believe sautéed bok choy. I didn't enjoy the taste, so I just ate the rice plain. I don't like sending my food back, nor do I like doctoring it up to taste good. The flavor and texture of the rice were ok.
The Korean pancake was thick and gummy!!! The owner said I should've asked for extra crispy, but I have never had any Asian pancake this texture. It has always been served thin, flaky, and crispy. Everybody does it differently. 🤷🏽♀️
Some of the sides were very bland, and so was the ramen (which was not scratch-made ramen noodles). I simply didn't enjoy my meal and left most of it on the table. 😕
Very nice...
Read moreWent here 30 minutes before close and was met at the door by a waitress asking, “Is it for here or to go?”. Which seemed odd since we hadn’t even ordered yet. We replied with for here. And she told us oh we close soon. We sat there staring at each other for a second and had to ask if we could still order or if we should go somewhere else. She “let” us order. Another family came in after we got our food and the waitress told them that the restaurant was closed. This family still ordered because the restaurant was not closed. Our food was okay but not good. Rice wasn’t really cooked through but I do say it did taste fresh. The only reason I do not give this restaurant one star is that the food is good most, and before this occurrence, all of the time. I like going here but the restaurant already has things going against it such as not taking credit cards, not being open on the weekends, and not a lot of seating. Service does not need to be added to this list. I understand wanting to close by the hours posted but as a fellow service industry member, sometimes it’s unrealistic. Cafe Korea, would you rather lock your doors at 8 or have returning,...
