Gorgeous view like most restaurants on property and everything is nicely appointed. We were part of a work group and on day 1 service was very sub par. We have dietary restrictions and when we asked the server about options were told we’d have to wait in line to ask the chef. We found another employee behind the buffet who gave conflicting information regarding which items had allergens and the food labels weren’t consistently labeling allergens either (dairy was not identified on all items with dairy but was for others). Very misleading and service wasn’t super friendly. On the second day they did a complete 180, both with our absolutely fantastic server whose name escapes me (will edit if I run into her again) who did the extra work of actually finding out what options there were, and the staff had magically added items we could eat to the menu. I think this may have been due to our company’s event staff, but either way we were quite pleased. It’s rough to review because day one deserves 2/3 stars and day 2 deserves 5 hands down. It’s a theme at the resort that some staff just either doesn’t care or doesn’t have the training/skillset for hospitality, and that was on display here. It’s a shame that fantastic staff who go above and beyond get outshone by those who don’t seem to want to be there in the...
Read moreGroup of 6 St Thomas residents. We went on a Friday morning at 9, and loved that it wasn't crowded. Reports are it can get crowded on weekends. Loved the views and how spacious it is.
The 6 of us sat at a curved booth which felt more private than a regular booth. They added three chairs so it became circular seating so we could all see each other.
Mia was our server, and she was the sweetest!
Didn't see any tvs which was nice so you can focus on talking.
The food was better than many breakfast buffets, but omelets were slow, and your server takes your order for them so you don't have to stand in a line. Those who ordered said they were bland, but I don't know how that could be fixed unless they offer stronger cheeses, hotter peppers, and dry seasonings. I think they ordered egg whites, cheese and vegetables.
They had vegan options which I passed on, and one in our party didn't see the sign for vegan pastries. I think they should have vegan beans, and a bean spread toast option for vegans. Didn't notice any nuts.
I drink tea, and would prefer a brand in addition to Bigelow, like maybe Tazo.
I am hoping to make the Shorebirdbreakfast a...
Read moreWe attempted to eat here while visiting the island. It was the absolute worst experience of our life. We ordered our food with a server who was pleasant. Then we never saw her again. We never received our sodas, our “garlic dinner rolls” that were supposed to be served with herbed whipped butter, were missing the garlic, the whipped butter and were hard and cold. We watched as other people got up and walked out after not being not served or not receiving their meal. I saw one family who was served their food but did not have any silverware to eat it with. The table next to them literally said, “here use ours, we are leaving, apparently we are not getting our food”. We got up and left. We asked for a manager and one never showed up. We described our server to others and no one knew who we were talking about. It was absolutely awful. Quite embarrassing for the...
