My wife and I recently visited Lori’s Corner Kitchen for breakfast, hoping for a pleasant dining experience. However, our visit left much to be desired. Despite the diner being busy, we patiently waited to be seated, only to be completely ignored by the staff. After some time, I took the initiative to approach an employee, politely requesting a table for two. Unfortunately, my efforts were met with minimal acknowledgment and no sense of urgency.
To make matters worse, when another couple arrived and requested a table for two, the employee offered them the opportunity to sit at a large table with us, which we found unacceptable. However, without any explanation, the couple was promptly seated at the large table while we were left standing, feeling disregarded and undervalued as customers.
This lack of customer service was deeply disappointing and led us to question whether our treatment was influenced by our status as people of color. Despite all customers being treated equally, the fact that we were the only people of color in the diner made us wonder if we were being unfairly overlooked.
Overall, our experience at Lori’s Corner Kitchen was incredibly disappointing. The lack of attention and questionable treatment left us with a sour impression, and we will not be returning. Food took a very long time to come (Restaurant was quite empty) , people who came in after us were served before we were and we ordered eggs. I ordered eggs Benedict which is supposed to come with runny eggs. My eggs were hard boiled. When I brought this to their attention was asked if I wanted another one. Yes, however I have appointments and need to go so I would need this to go. Time at this point had run out so I walked up to check out and asked if I could just come back tomorrow at I have to go as previously stated. Well the cook started screaming from the back room how no I can’t, he was already cooking it. I could not wait any longer. I had been very patient, too much so. The woman at check out proceeds to ring me and my friend up, at full price. I said, did you take off the eggs Benedict?! No, she replied. Your customer service is terrible, you should never treat anyone like I was treated today. Had the order been properly cooked none of this would have happened. When we walked in we asked for a high chair for my 9 month old daughter, she hesitated but did give it to us. When she brought it over she made a comment to my daughter “tell them u don’t wanna sit in the high chair You wanna sit in the booth” maybe she was joking but she was making little comments like that the whole time. When I said we don’t want anything for her (we had her formula and food with us) she started talking to my daughter again saying “oh you want some coffee right? Yea tell Them u want coffee” COFFEE... for a 9 month old?
