Bill & Bob's Roast Beef — Restaurant in Salem

Edit- they started becoming consistently good again shortly after writing this review so I’m changing my rating from 3 to 4 stars. I’m keeping one star off because it is still not as consistent as it should be, but most of the time delicious. Since my last review, the beef has been warm, pink, and fresh almost every time I have gone. I am adding one star to the atmosphere as well because I really love overlooking the water while eating the beef in my car. The interior just needs a face lift. I love this place.

I’ve been eating here since I had my first roast beef sandwich and stayed loyal to this place despite all the superb beeferies opening up in the area. I gotta say the last half dozen or so times I’ve been there to get my roast beef it hasn’t been good at all. Beef is coming out cold, dry, gray, and the bun tasting stale. I’ve been trying to give this place the benefit of doubt, maybe just some off days, but it has just been consistently bad for a while now. It’s frustrating spending $20 on a meal only to have no other choice but give my dog the roast beef that I came here for in the first place. I love this place but want to see it do better. I am giving 3 stars because the workers there are great and I would give them 5 stars if I was just rating their service… very nice people and always making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. Was craving a late night roast beef. Went there about 9:30 p.m. I think the only way the store stays in business is because people are desperate and drunk and are hungry and nobody else is open. The roast beef that I got and paid $10 for I wouldn't even feed to my dog ! it was brown all the way through. Loaded with mayonnaise and dry as a bone. I actually went there the week prior and got a junior roast beef that wasn't that bad. Once again if there was any other roast beef places in the area that were open I wouldn't even think about going to this place but I was craving and hoping to get a decent roast beef sandwich. First time I got the Junior it was probably a 5 out of 10. The beef I got last night was a 1 if that.next time I'm craving a roast beef I will just wait until the next Day. I would highly recommend not wasting your time or money getting a roast beef sandwich at this location especially in...

Lol, I don't complain about orders, but this one was a bit much. 🤣🤣 .. I just wanted something cheap & small, so I ordered the Steak Roll. It's a tiny bite-sized thing.. And i was charged for a small Steak Sub. I think like 6$ and some change. But didn't receive the Sub. 🤣 I just paid 6-7$ for something I ate in 2 bites. I didn't go back to tell them, because I understand they're just busy, but I'm now feeling silly for trying to save money, because I got ripped off anyways. 🤷🏻‍♀ lol.. but on a friendly note, thank you for being open late! Not many places to eat after Midnight. :)

Update: Forgot to mention that they charged my Friend for Ranch Dressing, and it wasn't even the good Ranch in a container. It was the Cheap one in the plastic bag. We asked for a bag of ketchup and ranch. And they said "we can give you one Ranch, but we can't just hand them out" .. Lol. You cant? Because most...
