My family and I have been loyal patrons of this establishment faithfully since a friend bought me a huge piece of their Black Magic Cheesecake in 2016. I have purchased a different cheesecake since then for every holiday- Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, birthdays and just because. We also go there once a week for coffee and a treat, but no more. I went in this past Wednesday, November 24, 2021 to pick up a pumpkin spice cheesecake for our Thanksgiving dessert. I did not have a mask on. A cashier yelled across the counter to me saying “ you need a mask”. I politely responded with “ I have a medical exemption “, and her reply was” you still need a mask”, Mind you, the response from the cashier was yelled at me in front of several customers. I wanted to walk out and forget about the item I was picking up, but my kids were excited that we once again would be having something from our favorite place. So I went out to my car and after a while was lucky enough to find a crumpled up mask in my glove compartment, went back in with my mask and medical exemption card from my doctor and got my order. Nobody cared to listen to me as to why I had a medical exemption. I called today , Nov. 26 to speak to the manager about the rudeness of the people that I interacted with, . I was told to call back around 11:00 am. Instead of a human, I received a voice message stating that they would not be taking orders, answering the phone, calling people back, to give them a few days as they were all burnt out…. I get it. However, speak to me after being diagnosed with leukemia, non Hodgkin’s lymphoma, multiple myeloma, 2 years of gut wrenching chemotherapy, and a bone marrow transplant, and I’ll explain what being truly burnt out means. My husband would have picked up our order, but since I am unable to work, he now works 12-18 hour shifts to compensate, again, talk to me about being burnt out. If someone told me that they had a medical exemption, I would be more than willing to hear them out. I’m shocked at the rudeness I met with, but that’s ok! Coffee Time lost some very loyal customers. Oh well, we’ll be taking our business now to Caramel where we have been met with kindness, professionalism and some of the loveliest people we’ve ever done...
Read moreThis place is awesome! Highly recommend. We went after dinner at like 9 o'clock, got a pumpkin cheesecake and a strawberry shortcake for there, then 2 cannolis and a that thing that's like a sweet hot dog bun with cream and lemon filling. Late night bakery, you can't beat that. Plus it's got the vibe of an old school dinner mixed with a bakery. I wanted to get pretty much everything in there. The pumpkin cheesecake was lightly spiced, lightly sweet, and didn't sit in my stomach like a rock. The strawberry shortcake was made with these like glazed strawberries (probably to keep them fresh or maybe just more pleasing to the eye) with 2 layers of cake and this creamy icing, not too dry not too filling, not too sweet, just perfect. Then the cannolis, woooo those were some of the best cannolis I've ever had! I got the plain ricotta filled ones, the shell was perfect not too hard not too soft, the ricotta was decadent and smooth, you gotta get them. Then that hot dog bun (not an actual hot dog bun I just forgot what it's called) with the cream in it and the lemon filling, really good ratio, the lemon jelly was nice, a little on the sweet side but the tartness helped elevate it and the cream rounded it out. I cannot wait to go back here. I mean a bakery that's open till 10, what more can you ask for! Also it was like 25 bucks for all that if I remember correctly. This...
Read morePlenty of delicious options from this local staple, more like a machine. The hours are bananas .5 in the morning til 11 at night, so like non stop. I have definitely enjoyed my share of there cupcakes, scones, donuts! Don't sleep on the pizza too- fluffy pan style, sweet sauce- probably stewed tomatoes and crushed... but delicious.. just recently had 2 delicious Arnold Palmer, just attempted to order another, but was denied- not because they were sold out of iced tea or lemonade- but because "they don't do that"- i again explained "that's odd, literally the last 2 days I have had them here". I walked out with my other items, and then walked back in after a minute, waited on line, and asked another employee if I can have a half lemonade half iced tea to, which was again denied. This just baffles me...I spend enough money at your establishment and you can't just pour half lemonade and half iced tea in a glass for me?? Really? The sweet girl even made the lemonade to order, cause they were in fact out, and it was delicious! Not sure what's up the butts of the people working tonight, but yikes!! Edit: this same evening I made a third visit, and spoke with an older gentleman about the drink situation. He was extremely pleasant, and he ended up having someone make said drink and comped it- which certainly wasn't my intention, but certainly...
