I do not understand why this place is getting such negative reviews, I understand there was some issues regarding their bathroom and I feel they handled it just fine. If anything the only negative thing would be the atmosphere, there was quite a few disrespectful people near our table who were just insulting the buffet and the staff. It was their opening night so their stuff like crab, crayfish, and sushi are all going to be taken out. Anytime my water glass would get low, I'd be offered a refill. With a group of 3 people including me the most we'd get is a stack of 4 plates before they were taken away by staff.
My favorite things I had when I was there: -Chicken on a stick, it was slightly fatty on a few pieces but I feel that was intentional for the texture and flavor. -Fried rice tasted like it was freshly made and was very enjoyable with their cracked pepper beef. -Cracked pepper beef, it has a layer of fat around the outside of it to keep it uniform and for a unique texture, it isn't hard chunks of fat at all and it isn't tough. Truly enjoyed it and worthy of seconds. -Their dessert, one of the things that surprised me the most. Most buffets their desserts just have this taste that makes it obvious they were frozen. You could not taste this on their cakes and they were delicious compared to other buffets.
Issues: -Move sauces closer to the sushi -Took about 20 minutes for staff to notice their freezer for ice cream was empty (boxes under so you can grab it yourself regardless) and the freezer needs its temp changed so the ice cream isn't rock hard. -Possibly let the more greasy foods rest on paper towels in the kitchen, mostly the fried crab. -Add a variety of grilled chicken with different sauces on each one.
Overall: Solid buffet for the price, the staff were super friendly towards my table at the start of dinner last night on their grand opening. People were having unreasonable expectations for a buffet on its opening night. Hope you will look past those reviews that make no sense, such as a review saying their chicken was pink and other reviews saying the chickens all frozen.
Kudos to all the staff who made it through the grand opening and apologies on behalf of all the disrespectful people who were bashing on the...
Read moreReview from someone who hates seafood* I hate seafood and I came here expecting to get the non seafood options and that's what prompted me to get online and complain. Do not mistake this as a regular buffet with great seafood. EVERYTHING is coated with seafood oils and flavors. Something as simple as chicken and broccoli had that seafood twang in it. The noodles all taste like seafood, I think it's just the oil they cook with. The fried rice was tolerable but the options for someone who doesn't like seafood is very slim already the food bars are dominated with all sorts of seafood. NO SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN OR S&S PORK. Now the hibachi couldn't be bad right? Well they cook all the food together and that's mistake no 1. It's 1 thing to accidentally pool a shrimp or 2 into my food (which was already enough for me to not touch it) and I knew that going in unless I wanted to wait until no one else with seafood items at the hibachi I might expect a couple peices of seafood. NAH a whole handful of shrimp and some that even fell in the gutter he scooped back up and mixed it in. Now my gf who had the seafood said it was okay but I have no way of knowing what okay is. She did say the sushi sucked. ALL this to say if you or someone you're taking HATES seafood you will hate this restaurant. Don't think you can get away eating the stuff that isn't seafood cause they already lack many options for that ontop of the non seafood stuff tasting like seafood.
Some positive things The vibe, great clean open space to eat and friendly staff. Fresh fruit and the hibachi ingredients seemed higher quality than I expected. Sweet treats are nice and they have individual ice cream cups. Huge selection of seafood if...
Read moreSo the time right now is 11:59 and me and my wife came in this restaurant for the lunch buffet at 11:00. We are new to the area and have not been to a Chinese buffet in quite some time. I read the reviews of this restaurant and the conclusion that I have drawn is that the reviews are from the employees that work here. Most of the reviews on this restaurant are good reviews well let me tell you what avoid this place at all cost. I had the breaded catfish which was good but ice cold who eats cold breaded catfish? The shrimp the ones that were peeled were good but next time they could leave out the 10 lb of salt. I had the spicy beef and it was so tough that I needed a chainsaw to cut it and the sugar in the salt were over the Richter scale. My wife said that the spring rolls and the dumplings were ice cold with no heat whatsoever. Now let's talk about the sushi I am a sushi lover and so is my wife The first bite of sushi that I took I literally spit it back out on my plate it was absolutely horrible All of the sushi was warm at room temperature I have never eaten sushi at warm room temperature. So all the sushi that was on my plate went in the trash along with the rest of the meal. The desserts wherever they get them from or if they make them in house they put no flavoring into them so it's just plain flavored cake with food coloring and frosting. The chocolate cake resembled chocolate. The ice cream is pretty good for what it was overall don't go here if you want good food there is none to be found here just my honest opinion the people were friendly and nice but the food...
