Soda Retreat — Restaurant in Salem

This is my absolute FAVORITE soda shop in the whole valley!!! It’s so cute. It’s clean. They are always courteous — great customer service! My favorite drink is the Taledega with Diet Coke. Oh my, yum!!! 😋🥤 My little girl loves their chocolate chip cookies. 🍪 My boy loves their sugar cookies. And the hubs loves their variety of specialized energy drinks. They can create just about any drink you can imagine. Not to mention they have lots of other snacks such as popcorn 🍿, pretzels 🥨, Rockwell Ice Cream 🍦, Shirley’s Sweet Rolls, nachos, churros, etc.! The atmosphere is very welcoming and cute. I'm a frequent customer. I pefer Soda Retreats drinks to anyone elses. However, I Pay 3.75, almost $4 for a drink and they fill the cup 3/4 of the way full of ice. I now ask specifically for lite ice because of that but I still end up with a cup that is 1/2 to 3/4 of the way full of ice. Am I really getting what I paid for? This happens so often that I've thought about asking for no ice, but even then I think it would be half way full of ice. Another problem is when you ask for an add-on like boba and they charge you for the add-on, about half the time they'll leave out the add-on. Then I end up with disappointment kids because they wanted boba in their drinks and there is none. Calling and letting them know your grievances doesn't...

I love the old school gas station feel. There is cool exposed HVAC attached to the ceiling and the building feels very open and big even though it is a relatively small space.

The soda options are pretty standard from other soda bars I've been to, not a bad thing, but nothing really stands out. Their cookies are perfect. I'm pretty sure they are homemade (or at least made by hand at the shop rather than shipped in) and it really shows. All the flavors are great, but the snicker doodles are a particular favorite.
