Well I went in and asked the cashier if they still do the free Birthday dinner because I have gotten it there in the past and thought that would be a great way to close out my Birthday. The cashier said yes and so I went and ordered my dinner and had the meal. Well to my surprise I got a bill for the meal 🤷♀️ I was absolutely shocked and asked the waitress to which she replied there has to be 4 people to get the free Birthday meal. I was like what wait the cashier said I would get a free meal for my birthday so needless to say the manager came over and not only said no but was rude, disrespectful and would not hear anything I had to say. I had to pay for the meal on my birthday which I had gotten free many times before at that same location and not only did he call me a liar but he also said the cashier would never say that the meal is free because he knows her and knows she would never say something like that so we went to her and she said she did say something along the lines of a free dinner and I was like wow mister for 30 bucks you sure are making a big deal about this and its absolutely terrible to treat someone like this. I asked if there was a corporate office and he said no he was the top person and nobody above him. So in short the cashier said yes they still do the free Birthday dinners, the waitress said they still do them but it has to be 4 people and the manager said we never have and never will offer a free Birthday dinner. So sad to have to write this but I just feel horrible about the whole escapade and it's a terrible way to treat a...
Read moreMeh. First time. I'm Japanese (yes, with a German last name...I'm worldly), but I'm not too particular about Japanese food. Wait. Yes, actually I am, but I know this isn't Japan. We did the menu, not the Hibachi. No singeing of the eyelashes tonight. Our waitress wasn't particularly interested, and some lady at the bar seemed to think yelling conversationally adds character where personality fails, and none of the staff thought she cpuld use a nudge. The menu is pretty limited for a Japanese place, I mean, what Japanese restaurant doesn't have tonkatsu? This one. This one doesn't have tonkatsu. We waited a long time for our appetizers, which today kept their name by 23 seconds when our dinners arrived crowding the sticky table. I pushed aside the small plate, prestained with stuck on dried food, to make room. Explains why the appies were cool, she hadn't gotten to them when they were up. Salt was the flavor of my son's teppanyaki. I think mine was metal, my yakisoba had that distinct hint of seared oil and metal. I have yet to find a Japanese restaurant that knows how to make yakisoba so I don't hold it against them. They all use the wrong soba, the wrong base flavor (hint, the right one has a Worcestershire sauce flavor to it). Portions were generous, the dinners were warm and fresh. It was a bit over-priced, and overall, meh. But this is where we went because we couldn't get into Tomo, and I had a hankering for tonkatsu. I wonder if Tomo does? Kumo Sushi,...
Read moreMy husband, daughter, and I ate here this afternoon. My husband and I both ordered the teriyaki chicken entree with fried rice. We both got our soup and salad but when the hibachi meal was made they gave my husband all the rice except a small spoonful on my plate and then plopped all 3 shrimp on his plate. Funny I thought I'd get at least one of them between the two of us. Then I asked if I could have my meal too and the hibachi cook disappeared into the kitchen leaving the vegetables and chicken sizzling in front of us with no one there. He came back with raw chicken and mixed it with the cooked chicken and some extra vegetables for the entree I ordered and then I asked if he was going to make my daughters dinner as her white rice and chicken was nowhere to be found. He left again and got the white rice for her and more chicken. I can't believe despite our paying for three complete meals they only served my husband and left me and my daughter without food until we asked if they would serve us our meals as well. Of course they had no problem charging us for all three entrees but only felt the male at the table should have been served a meal. Horrifyingly...
