I get that 5 stars for Wendy's is kinda suspect, but from the perspective of "Yo, I'm hungry man, and I want some burgers!" or "Dang! I'm late and I need to eat breakfast so I don't get hangry around 11!" it's legit 5 of 5. Specifically this location. In fact I'll just say it, I think Salem in general has some of the best Fast Food Artists in the World. But I'll stick to these ones here at Wendy's on South Commercial. I go through here a lot, and even when I can tell there's some drama brewing somewhere in the hierarchy, I get consistently good service, good attitudes, and good quality fast food. And I order from my phone a lot. Which means sometimes I doctor up my Baconator to be like a gigantic Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, or get crazy with the extra pickles, no ketchup, extra mustard, and they get it right. Nobody chucks my bag at me with a look, nobody is having a meltdown because the pattern got broken, no smoke out the windows or nothin'. When they're out of something, they help me out to figure out a substitution. I'm just saying, I've been meaning to say something for awhile, but broh told me he was "terribly sorry" for a 30 second wait at the speaker, and then worked through the trials and tribulations of the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine to get me my Powerade Extra Sour Peach Pucker. With even a couple more "terribly sorries" thrown in, to where I was getting embarrassed, but I wasn't going to lay that on him. So I just said, "no worries at all, man!" and went on my merry way with a smile on my face that wasn't there before. And that was already yesterday, so it matters even more. Although technically I was searching through my Google maps lists and stumbled on my profile and review recommendations requests tab, and this was first on the list and there's no way I'm doing another one today because this was legendary, but hey. Boom. Lucky days or whatever.
Do yourself a favor and get some Wendy's at this joint if you're hemming and hawing over where to get that satisfaction. Consistent. That's important, and impressive, because there's been quite a bit of turnover and it's still good. Must be a good manager,...
Read moreI’m texting to give some thoughts on the Wendy’s on commercial. I love Wendy’s and have made it my go to especially when I don’t want to cook or money is tight. This is the only Wendy’s close enough to me the other is too far of a drive. I consistently am met with a cool window person usually bubbly funny and engaging. My concern is the quality control. I am not exaggerating when I say I can confidently say I have a 85% chance EVERYTIME I go to get 1+ things wrong or not prepared properly. I have made it clear before but I fear anything being done to my food not that they have but you know what I mean. I almost NEVER get my spicy nuggets as if they just toss nuggets in a bag when they see nuggets on the receipt no check no nothing. I constantly am getting 3/4th of the “large fry” container sometimes even barely half. I just got my order now and the fries were ok but the nuggets yet again arnt spicy and are undercooked with no crispness and almost all are soggy as if rushed out the fryer to move onto the next person (I was one of 2 ppl in line and they were not busy) I always ask for no onion on my sandwiches but I can never understand why taking off a step is so hard and of course always have onions on my burgers. I really do want to keep coming and love Wendy’s but this location sometimes makes it extremely hard not to be frustrated and not go back. 100% the workers are good people and always when I go back they help me out and fix it but this inconsistent ability to pump out correct orders is extremely unsatisfying. I understand the food business can be hectic as I have been in it for over 8+ years but a few extra seconds to confirm makes everyone’s job better and the customer much happier.
I hope this constructive criticism finds whom will try to implement and keep Wendy’s a staple fast food with quality. Again all the workers are kind and engaging which is amazing but the inability to give out CORRECT orders I’m sure is hindering retention or growing frustration as I know several others who’ve had very similar scenarios...
Read moreBuckle in. This is going to be the longest review I thought I'd ever leave. Quick summery: Always a very long wait time to be treated very rudely each time, and maybe you'll be given horrible food in a petty way because you didn't know how many kinds of bacon cheese burgers they had.
I work in a drive through, and I'm always really nice to staff. Because kind customers make everything worth it. Most of the time when I go here, full grown adults act like life is high-school. When I started visiting, I didn't order at Wendy's much and just grabbed friends food. Whenever I asked for a bacon cheeseburger, I got one without problem! One time though, a women snapped at me, I didn't know there were different kinds! She cut me off to list them off with an attitude, and I said I'll just take a cheeseburger, to not hold up the line. I was still nice, because, I get it. However, I got to the window and the experience just got worse. When I got home, I would not call what I got a burger, or even a sandwich. It was a tiny patty, a crispy piece of bacon, then the not dry half was an unbelievable amount of mayo. Thats when I got offended, because before I got handed the bag and a rude "yeah" in response to my "thanks, appreciate it!", I was polite. I've ordered a bacon cheese burger there without a problem before. Now I know to take a look at the menue online before visiting, to be extra specific. Not to mention things are usually missing, and I don't want to wait ages in line again for them because the lobby is closed, and I'd rather get home and not go through that again. But what really upsets me is I've visited twice after that like nothing happened, thinking 'maybe today will be a better day', and it wasn't. I've left there angry too man times. I'll find somewhere else convenient to go. Especially if I'm going to wait so incredibly long in line each time to be...
