Husband and I wanted to try this pizza for the first time today. As we get in through the door our eyes go to the pizza that they had in the warmer which appeared to be dry & flat. However, we wanted to give it a try and not “judge a book by its cover”. The young guy on the register wearing a tide-eyed shirt with silly looking glasses stated “this is my last day so I don’t care,” to one of his coworkers. We didn’t think much of it. He yelled at the customer in front of us saying “can you speak up!” That was a bit rude, however I am stern with my orders so on our turn I told him we wanted a large all pepperoni pizza. He said “all pizza’s are $18 today.” Okay that was cool. We paid him $20 in cash so we got $2.00 in change. I asked him how long it was going to be and he responds with “eh, about 20 minutes.” We had our two dogs in the car and were holding our baby so we go back to our car to wait the 20 minutes, my husband goes back to get the pizza. He is taking a while as I am waiting in the car with our baby and two dogs. When he comes back in the car he tells me that the guy never took out order and told me that they asked if we could wait another 25 minutes and so he wanted to come back to ask me if I wanted to wait. Of course not! I went back inside to get our money back. This time it was a young female who apologized for the inconvenience. I asked how our order was not taken if he had taken our money. She stated that the guy had never printed the receipt so the cooks never started on our order. It was very frustrating and I expressed how we had a baby and two dogs in the car and our time was just wasted! The guy that took our order comes walking out to the front (appeared to have been on break) …I look at him and say “dude, you never took our order?!” He responds with “what, yes I did….”, no you did not! A receipt was not printed out! He did not apologize and there were two grown-man in the front making the pizzas hearing what was going on and neither apologized for the inconvenience either. What a sloppy way to run a business. I took our money back and left! It seems like the guy with the silly sunglasses did it on purpose being that it was his last day. Either way, all the other coworkers were sloppy and lazy and very...
Read moreThis was not the best experience at all. First the SFNY menu on Uber Eats is confusing. I ordered a calzone. And some wings. The Uber Eats delivery driver who was fabulous I might add gets there and it's not done which was already plenty of time to be done. They tell her they have to take 2 items off calzone bc it only has 5. They told her they couldn't contact me. Well that's interesting. The only call I got was from Massachusetts. I don't answer calls I don't know that are from somewhere I know no one. Like a scam call. Driver sits there waiting the whole time for them to put it together and get it in the oven. And it takes FOREVER!!! It was about 1 1/2 hours from time of order to time I got it. And I only live 2 minutes away from SFNY. To top that off the calzone was BURNT on the TOP and BOTTOM. The wings were BURNT too. The inside tasted pretty good for the most part BUT the ricotta was like smush...bc they cooked it too long. Need a new cook maybe?? Idk but bc they took soooo long and than I get burnt...near black burnt on the crust. It wasn't a pleasant experience. I think I'd at least like to have a FREE pizza or calzone UNBURNT for the trouble. Or refund my money. It's the least they can do if they're a good business. I would do that if it was my business. Would I try them again? Not so sure. It wasn't a delivery problem AT ALL. She was GREAT!! It was all SFNY with the issues. Thanks for listening. Order at your own risk. Lol 2 1/2 stars. And that's...
Read moreWhen moving to a new neighborhood, there are a few things you have to find. A good place to drink beer, a good place to buy produce, and a good place to deliver you pizza. After a half dozen local pizza joints, we found our delivery pizza of choice.
We haven't branched out from the classic pepperoni pizza, but I can honestly say I don't need to try other pies to know that this is the kind of pizza I like. First and foremost, the crust is the star of the show. Chewy in the best possible way through the cheese topped portion (and it certainly tastes like good quality cheese), and thick and fluffy in the crust-end. Dip the crust in some salad dressing or marinara, it's far too bread-like to eat dry (but that's totally by design!) The pepperoni is also well-chosen, letting out enough of its greasy deliciousness into the cheese and sauce to make it the kind of pizza that's actually worth the calories. The sauce itself is sweet and rich, but is also subtle enough not to demand too much of your attention, so you can focus on the rest of the pizza, which is unquestionably better. A bolder sauce would probably be overkill on a pizza like this.
Maybe even best of all, pizza is all about the leftovers, and SFNY's pie actually gets better over the course of a few days. Bake it in the oven and it'll even better than when...
