The Fussy Duck — Local services in Salem

My friends and I walked in excited to look around based on the other reviews. I found a hoodie I thought looked cool so I picked it up off the rack and continued walking/browsing around; just like anyone else does at any regular store. My friends and I noticed that the woman who greeted us when we walked in (not sure if she’s the owner or not) is following us around but at that point I didn’t think much of it. As me and my friend stopped to look at something the woman walks up to us and snatches the hoodie out of my hand and says that she will ‘hold it at the front’. I looked at her confused because my friend was also holding items but the woman only treated me that way. She then proceeds to follow my friends and I as we’re walking towards the exit and says with an attitude “y’all are leaving?” Yes, we are leaving because we’re not shopping at a racist establishment. I would not recommend this store to any black person or person of color. Stay...

Shopped here last week and they told me as I am paying for my item that if I waited they are having a sale this weekend and I could save 10 percent. We chose not to wait and bought the item. I did come back to the store for the 10 percent off and found a cute item and the vendor told me I had to pay inside and she would lose 12 percent since I was using a debit card. I went inside to pay and when it was rung up, imagine my shock when THAT item was not 10 percent off. When I asked why I was told only inside/regular vendors had items on that "sale". I looked all over by the register, by the door, by the outside vendors and no where did it say that. What a disappointment. Not the nicest of people and I think a little high priced. Not sure I will shop here again and I will pass this shopping experience on to all my friends, co workers, relatives, etc. In this day and age...customer service...

I wandered through the eclectic collections and felt the warmth of not one, or two, but THREE WOOD burning fireplaces, I could have stayed all day- there was so much to look at and the owners truly are wonderfully welcoming. Comparing this store to gift "shops" in the area is impossible. The Fussy Duck is a one-stop destination for those seeking a unique gift, or just wanting to stumble upon something to add to your home. Parking is free and convenient, a coffee kiosk and a food truck provide all the sustenance one needs - make it a day out with freinds, the Thai food truck is also amazing, fresh, authentic, friendly service - Egg Rolls like my mom wishes she could make! I wish only prosperity and a long life...
