Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Salina

A normally reliable place to get a meal was not at all acceptable on 8/31/24. I had the meat combo of half slab of ribs and chicken tenders and chips and salsa..Chips were so salty, you could feel the salt fall off. I could not eat the fries, the same way and then the batter on the chicken tenders was like it had been dipped in salt. Our waitress was so fast all night, she failed to take care of us as she had indicated. Sometimes fast isn't the best, she tried to take our drink order, starters and meals all at once. WHY? The place was empty ? They are pushing their Chili rewards to everyone, that's the first thing out of their mouths. When finally asked about how everything was, I hesitated, because it was the second time we told her as she flew by the first time. She said she would let "them" know, so I was expecting a visit from a manager which I never saw the entire night , I guess they don't walk around any more? The wife said she saw the girl listen to me and make the statement and then went to her Kiosk, so I guess she didn't tell "them". So, disappointed in attitude and meal, there are other places to go Chilis. Teach your people how to take care of their customers, we greatly reduced her tip due to her "not" taking care of us. I guess she did not really need it? FYI, we always tip 15%+, not this time. We spent over $80 as usual and it was not worth it. When you are getting older customers coming into your restaurants, I can't believe that salt isn't an issue with them? Please address your crew and make the manager more visible to customers. From the time we entered at 7:30pm it was a bad experience. The greeter started by slamming the drink menus down when we asked for a full menu, then she stormed off with "I'll have to go hunt for one!!!" Once seeted, I had to ask another waitress who was supposed to wait on our table, (after 15 min no service). From there on it was down hill. We ended up leaving with out meals comped (2hrs later) and still only had chip's and salsa for supper. Our food was cold, undercooked, etc. The whole time we were very polite to everyone. I'm sure it wasn't taken well when finally exclaimed (after atleast the 4th time asking for dipping sauce, gravy, drinks, soup, etc) "I'm definitely going to do a Google review on this place tonight." The waitress kept coming out apologizing, but never bringing out our drinks, etc. (Things that she had control over). This used to be our favorite place to eat. Oh, the manager did come out to comp our meals after my wife had partially raw country fried steak, and said she would have a replacement out in 5 min. 30+ min later it showed up, fraction of the normal portion with mashed potatoes on the side instead of gravy. Manager would never come back out. Never did get the gravy. I'm not one to just throw out bad reviews. And, Not wanting to sound discouraged by all this, however, sometimes you just can't fix a problem and need to start over with...

I gave this post three stars due strictly to service and not because of the quality of food. Our food was delicious. We both ordered chicken crispers with fries and corn. Every single time I come to Chili's I eat chicken crispers with honey mustard. Every single time I order extra honey mustard. The combo is delicious and the entire reason I come here. They gave us two of the dinky size condiment holders for all the chicken provided. I had to ask for the second cup of honey mustard. At the end of the meal I asked for a to go box and honey mustard for my chicken and our server refused stating she had to charge for it. It's the principle of the situation and not the cost. So I respectfully declined. Then she went to bring the check and advised that she had snuck our extra honey mustard out because she wasn't allowed to give extra and her manager had charged us for it and put it on the bill. I then asked to speak to the manager. We waited like 15 minutes and no manager ever came. She told us she couldn't find the manager but that she had called her on the walkie. No one ever showed up. The server advised us she couldn't take the charges off. She then came over minutes later and advised she was taking it off. It makes no sense and was ridiculous.
