Ariana's Restaurant — Restaurant in Salinas

One of the worst places to eat in Salinas. DO NOT GO HERE. It is dirty, food is atrocious, customer service is abysmal, and they mischarge customers.

[ ] When we arrived we were greeted with a swarm of flies buzzing around everywhere. Tables were also dirty and had food remains that were not cleaned from previous customers. [ ] The bacon cheeseburger we ordered was a frozen patty mess, the bacon was crusty, and the bread was drenched in grease. The fries that went with the cheeseburger were equally as bad as they were stale and tasted like the school cafeteria variety. [ ] When we complained about it to our waitress she took our plate and informed the owner of the restaurant. He came over to our table and asked what was wrong with it and we told him it did not taste good and if he could bring us tacos instead. He brought the tacos after they were done and before we could finish the plate had the waitress bring our check. In it we found that they charged us half the price of the cheeseburger that was sent back and our other parts of the order. [ ] On top of that they mischarged the whole bill (see attached picture). When we complained with our waitress we were told that we were still going to be charged the cheeseburger that was sent back because we were wasting perfectly good food and that they could package it up if we wanted. Stopped by this spot in Salinas with a friend after hearing good things—especially about the pancakes. We both ordered the corned beef hash, and I swapped the toast for a pancake since that was the main reason I wanted to check the place out.

The entree itself was solid. The hash was flavorful and well-cooked, and overall the breakfast was enjoyable. But the pancake… not so much. When I tried cutting into it with a butter knife, it wouldn’t go through. I flipped it over and found the entire bottom was completely burned. It honestly felt like they tried to hide it, which is disappointing.

I asked for a replacement, and they brought another one out—but it was undercooked, like they over-corrected. Definitely one of the worst pancakes I’ve had. I’d consider going back for the main breakfast items, but I’d skip the pancakes entirely. Maybe it was just a one-off, but the attempt to cover it up didn’t sit...

Popped in late morning after a hike. Seated ourselves at one of two available tables; place moderately busy. Received lukewarm, watery coffee and son asked for water shortly after seated & waitress took orders ~5mins later; food received 20 mins later. Noticed smell of cinnamon as waitress passed by to table next to us. Wasn’t aware until after second refills offered of the bland coffee, and third pass from waitress that the table next to us had gotten fresh hot cinnamon coffee; a waitress then offered the cinnamon coffee to us at which point we were two bites from completing our meals. I did mention it to the elderly hostess (? Owner) at check out who then offered me a cup to go, but too late. The food was usual diner fare, nothing creative + stingy with strawberries on french toast & no whipped cream, and the less than stellar customer service/coffee issue was something that influenced any...
