I honestly don’t understand how this place has so many great reviews unless it was a hugely off day on my visit… Arrived and there was one other table. The hostess was kind and seated me quickly. I asked for coffee and a Diet Coke. I waited like 10 minutes when she came back she brought my coffee but told me the coke machine was down. I rolled with it and asked for ice water instead. I ordered their SOS, which was really biscuits and gravy. Again, 10 minutes later, she comes back to tell me she can’t give me water because it’s attached to the coke machine. (How did you make the coffee?) She offered juice free of charge but I just stuck with the coffee. About 25 minutes after arrival, I get my breakfast. The food was pretty bland overall. A few minutes later she brings a Diet Coke. “The machine was disconnected” which I assume means it was unplugged? It takes another 15 minutes or so for her to bring the check. At this point, there are 3-4 patrons at the restaurant. (I noted a couple come in to order bagels and cream cheese to go. They cancelled their order after waiting 10-15 minutes for their food). When they finally bring the check, I give them my card. 5-10 minutes after that, they tell me they are having trouble with their card system. They tell me my only option is to pay cash or go get cash. I luckily had some cash on me (I’m normally not one to carry much) and paid and left. The only reason this place is getting two stars is because everyone was very nice. But I would still avoid it. I hate to sound harsh with Covid and all but you can do better even with Covid associated happenings. Hope they get their...
Read moreWaiter and service in general was excellent Very accommodating to say least. Breakdown on the food there: I ordered the Eggs Benedict because it is my favorite dish. The hollandaise sauce was on point, nice and buttery. The eggs were poached decently although one was a little under cooked while the other was a little over cooked. I gave the waiter some advice on how to correct this situation, just turn the heat down a little bit on the water that way when the eggs are ready they will at least come out the same. I really liked the use of the thin ham instead of Canadian Bacon. I feel it adds to the flavor. The hash browns need help. I understand cutting costs, but some of the frozen hash browns that come frozen have little to no flavor. I would recommend the country style potatoes, those were much better on flavor. Since the place is called the Waffle Shop, I asked if I could sample their waffles. 1/4 of a waffle made from their own recipe was delivered. Mmm, it was a great waffle, so next time I go I'm going to try a waffle plate. All in all it was a great visit and I look forward to visiting the...
Read moreThe breakfasts looked good, but that's where the good news ends. The waitress was really nice but a bit slow for there only being two other tables of people there at the time.
We ordered the enchilada omelet and the egg and cattle steak burger dishes. The enchilada casserole tasted like it came out of a can and the hash browns tasted bitter. The steak burger was decently seasoned but just ok tasting and the country potatoes were terrible. I salted and lathered them in ketchup and still couldn't eat them. There was something off in the flavor of the potatoes. The eggs in both plates were just fine and they butter their toast really well.
They are WAY too pricey also. A HALF stack of pancakes (pancakes) is $9.95! The plain ole waffle is also $9.95...
We were excited to finally try this place after the good reviews and food pics but we were sorely...
