LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! This place, just discovered it this year (WHERE HAS IT BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!)! This is just the type of local place I love to support.
You pay at an outdoor counter area and they have outdoor seating its so PERFECT when you picture an ice cream shop in your head, I can certainly see them as a staple to the community!
My son and I stopped by a and we both enjoyed it a lot, I had the home made German chocolate ice-cream and wow I'm hooked! It was delicious, really!
I can't wait to go back!
Advice: Ice cream melts FAST (yes captain obvious LOL) be ready to eat fast if its a very hot day or be prepared to run to the car, have preparations so you don't spill it all over when you have the AC running, not a horrible idea to bring a big plate or something to save yourself a mess. Also bring baby wipes (lesson learned) if you have them they make the sticky mess go away so you don't have to touch the steering wheel with ice cream hands LOL.
Pricing: Think its fair, I don't know what good ice cream pricing is, so can't tell if its just slightly over priced (if it is then its only ever so slightly overpriced) or it could be on point. I didn't try the other items like their hot foods so can't comment on those from what I saw in the window looked good, a bit over priced for the location for those types of items I think (again I could be wrong on that) so take it with a grain of salt, my pricing on this location is not perfect, probably because I like it SO much so can't be perfectly objective.
Additional Pros: Great ice cream selection for kids. My kiddo had the dumpster (comes in a dumpster can like on Sesame Street I think) the first time we came and had a blast with it.
Final Thoughts: AWESOME Place will certainly be back and recommend them. I REALLY want to try so many of their home made ice creams, if it is anything like the German Chocolate they won't disappoint!
I don't give out 5 stars or my comments lightly this place disserved it, keep up the great ice cream and the friendly service! (Remember great service goes a long way and makes the food taste infinitely better, people often eat with...
Read moreLooked at the menu online before coming in, there was no one else ahead of us when we got there. The associate helping us with our to-go order informed us that most all of the online menu items were inaccurate, so most of items I was interested in ordering were not available at all.
Tried to order four or five different items that turned out to not really be on the menu before just deciding to go with something simple.
I ordered a small vanilla, soft serve waffle cone with chocolate sprinkles. The ice cream was pretty soft, even for soft serve, the sprinkles were crushed and had old pieces of m&m among them for some reason.
I also ordered the frozen lemonade which was juuuuuust icy enough to qualify as frozen, but it didn’t not stay cold more than 3-5 minutes before all the ice particles were gone.
I regret not just ordering a regular lemonade with ice because that would have stayed cold exponentially longer than what I got.
My husband ordered a vanilla soft serve with cherry dip. The dip was light-pink in color and was a soft-coating over the ice cream rather than the anticipated bright cherry-red hardened shell coating.
His was also very soft and melting before it was given to him so it felt like a race against time and I think we both ultimately spent more time trying to avoid a dripping mess than actually enjoying the ice cream. I didn’t even have time to take a photo for this review because then it would have been melted.
The extra napkins we were sure to take before leaving were no match for what was going down!
I ended up only finishing my cone halfway, I was a bit put off by the general uncleanliness of the establishment and getting crushed/mixed toppings was just too much for me.
With the uncleaned walls and sticky tables and floors my OCD was just a bit too overwhelmed by it all for me to enjoy the experience or the ice cream.
It was busy though, lots of people coming and going or ordering-in from both the ice cream side and the restaurant side the establishment. Their pizzas seem to be the...
Read moreI went to Mickey’s Dairy Twist today and observed blatant lack of food safety. All three of the employees were wearing gloves that were visibly soiled. The young man and older woman were preparing food with the same filthy gloves they were taking money with and the older man was touching his face mask and face while preparing food. I was in line for almost 20 minutes and none of them changed their gloves or washed their hands until I asked the older woman why they all were disregarding food safety practices. Her response was “because we got busy”. So she is saying that the customers health and well-being is less important than getting the food out faster. I also witnessed the young man holding a blob of ice cream in his gloved hand, reach to the garbage to throw it way, then wipe the ice cream off his glove and continue to take orders and make food. I hing around for about 25 more minutes to witness the older man preparing food in the grill area without changing gloves and returning to the cold food prep area and prepare ice cream for customers. I am so repulsed that I will never return to this business. I will go to Dairy Queen instead. I will also be calling the health...
