Asian Taste — Restaurant in Salisbury

Well here we go. i came here expecting a nice change of pace from the typical food we have in Salisbury. while the food in Salisbury is very good, i can safely say this restaurant was indeed a big change of pace...meaning it was terrible. i ordered the szechuan shrimp (Pardon my spelling) and got it within 5 minutes. upon opening said shrimp it looked like a layer of plastic wrap was sitting on top of my shrimp, thankfully it wasn't. this shiny coat was the shrimp doused in some sort of sauce, assuming the szechuan. and when i say it was doused i mean the Salisbury fire department had to have come with a hose and sprayed the entire restaurant with sauce. so my first bite i was shocked to find that under all the sauce it had no flavor at all. its as if the laws of physics dont apply there. one would assume when you add sauce, more flavor will arise...NOPE. Throughout the good and bad, the eggroll was surprisingly edible (not a big eggroll person) so they get an extra star. the fortune cookie i got said "joy comes from adventure today, time to shake the world" Well this was almost the perfect fortune for the day. on one hand, it surely was an adventure getting there. and on the other hand i had absolutely no joy eating this food at all. Thanks Asian taste for hopefully not giving me a taste of Asia. If Gordon Ramsey appeared at this restaurant for kitchen nightmares i would not...

UPDATE Unfortunately Asian Taste has gone down hill in 2019. While most menu items are still fairly good, the customer service is pretty lousy. Every time we call to place an order, we are put on hold for at least 5 minutes while the cashier answers other phones and takes their orders first. You can always order online, however, they don't accommodate any special requests you may opt for. I'm under the assumption that they have a new chef, as they no longer offer sushi or tempura entrees, and the meat to veggie ratio has become rather ridiculous. I have no problem paying $13 for an entree, but these are usually all rice and vegetables with little meat. All in all, they're fairly mediocre these days.

Asian Taste has quickly become my favorite Chinese joint in the Salisbury area. The food is always good, hot, and fast... Even with delivery. There's no pools of fatty oil sitting in the bottom of your container like most Chinese takeout places. The service is just as great as the food. If you haven't been, give them a go... I have not found a better tasting Chinese take-out in Salisbury. The flavors are really good. We usually get the vegetable fried rice and have pork added to it. I can honestly say they have the best fried rice I've ever had, according to my standards of what good friend rice tastes like. Most other take-outs don't have as much flavor. The fried wings are tasty and I recently had their udon stir-fry with vegetables which was pretty good. They have never really disappointed me. The only reason I gave four stars is because at times the food can be a bit too greasy and also there's a lack of consistency in flavor.
