I gave 2 stars because the food was just OK. I've had better. I love supporting new places and local restaurants. I had not heard of this place until today. I normally check reviews, but this time I didn't; wish I had! I went on the website to order, which took me second party option to order for pickup. I used Doordash, which is my usual choice. I used my husband's credit card, he and I store our cards in our Google Wallet. I arrived in the restaurant, as Doordash sent a text that my order was ready. I asked for my order and initially was told by, who looked to be a Manager there was no order for me. I told him I ordered online through Doordash. He went in the back, came back and asked me to give it a few minutes, which I gladly did. When my order was ready I approached the counter to retrieve it, however a person doing a Doordash pickup approached first and the manager had to tell the staff the order was mine. As I went to get my food, the staff asked my name; I told him. He then looked confused and looked at the, manager who told me they needed to see my name (on my phone). I was taken back because I've NEVER been asked this! I told them that the cc was in my husband's name but I was picking up the order and we have the same last name. Both men were insisting I show my name. I further explained that I didn't have the Doordash app and stated that their website took me to Doordash to order. I showed them my text saying the food was ready; they continued to deny me food I'd already paid for. The manager then says, he needs to see my name because there was a problem with the order; I asked what was the problem and did he really want me to go get my driver's license to proof my identity. The manager then says they have a lot of people coming to get food, giving out names when they didn't order. I again explained the order was mine, showed them the text and the staff proceeds to try to take my phone from my hand; I told him to not touch my phone. I became upset at this point and asked for my food. The staff person wasn't willing, however the manager told him to give it to me, then tells me next time bring ID. This was clearly racist behavior as I didn't hear them asking anyone else for their ID! I will NEVER go back and the food was just OK; definitely not worth going through what I went through. To the manager and staff I've seen y'alls comments to folks who don't give good reviews, you can comment to cover your rudeness if you please, but just know God deals with what needs to be dealt with and y'all need to be grateful for All...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of this establishment in Salisbury, Maryland since they first opened their doors. On my recent visit, I requested a half a chicken dinner with yuca and plantains as sides, specifying that I wanted my chicken well done. However, upon receiving my order, I noticed that the gentleman had given me a half a chicken of dark meat instead.
When I politely inquired about the mix-up and expressed my desire to order another dinner, the gentleman unexpectedly cursed at me in Spanish. Despite this rude behavior, I attempted to diffuse the situation by suggesting that I would purchase another dinner in addition to the one he had already prepared, and pay for both to make things easier.
Unfortunately, the gentleman continued to disrespect me by cursing at me in Spanish once again. Feeling completely disrespected and mistreated, I made the decision to leave the establishment and vowed never to return. I believe that it is important for the community to be aware of how customers are being mistreated at this establishment, and I made it a point to inform others of my negative experience. Read moreI went today and the service was not so great to say the least. One of the cashiers was rude to me as well as another customer. I requested him to get me some new plantain because it was hard and he gave me a hard time. He asked me what type of sauce I wanted, so I asked him for some detail about the type of sauces and he laughed at me rudely. This rude person shouldn’t be working there We are not going back !!!! I went back to El Pollo Asado today and the sides looked so old. The chicken was so old and the fresh chicken was coming out in 30 minutes. The person that runs this place is so incompetent I do not know why the owner keeps this person in charge. I told him that there where no plantains and he said no problem I can fry more now! He looks like he does not want to waste any vegetables. The broccoli was looking okd and nasty! Vegetables are not too expensive!!! It is a disaster !!! My family and I left! I hope the new establishment that is opening in Georgetown, Delaware runs BETTER with a better manager!
