Hideaway Pub — Restaurant in Salisbury

We are renting a house nearby and we walked here for some drinks and to play pool. Instead of being served we got accused of being drunk and denied service for no reason being told by the questionably aged bartender "none of you need to drink". This is one of the most rude experiences I've ever gone through I would discourage everyone from going here this is beyond a level of messed up I could have ever imagined

EDIT: The response below is untrue. Nobody in our party would have ever ripped down an American flag that is an insane accusation and you must have mixed us up with someone else. I understand that you're upset that I left you 1 star (for solid honest reasons) but making threats and accusing us of criminal behavior when literally all we did was walk in (not drunk), get rudely denied, then leave peacefully shows this place is run by some very dishonest and disrespectful people who can't even differentiate between regular customers and actual trouble makers. Very odd place. In addition to the bar there's dining space with maybe 9 or 10 tables with chairs at them, but they don't serve any food here at all.

I saw a smattering of morose-looking customers at the bar, some drunk past the point of coherence, the others seemingly too depressed for conversation anyway. Proprietress is a very elderly woman whose open bitterness is so over-the-top that it's more comical than off-putting.

Place is interesting as a curiosity, though I can't recommend it for any other reason. Still, if you're a tourist, it's worth wandering in just to gawk, and maybe to troll the cranky barkeep. Try asking...

Less than a star. The bartender scammed me with venmo because I misplaced my card. She charged me twice. The manager threatened me, clearly in on the scam. Told me to go outside but he never came 😂. I would never recommend this dive it's really gone down hill. Maybe 🤔 go back to making jelly donuts instead of ripping people off or attempting to. At least it's honest work. This is coming from a guy who owned a house down the street at 146 since 1957. I filed a police report in case they try to scam someone else. At least it won't be the first time someone reported it.
