Update : In the last year I've been back to Seaglass three additional times. The last three times the waitresses were so rude that everyone was pretty put off by the experience.
One time is an off night; three times is a pattern .
I want to start out by saying I used to work as a waitress and a bartender so I am very sympathetic to how difficult being in the service industry can be . The waitresses the last few times were unfriendly, terse, and short with the our table. They seemed annoyed and bothered to be serving us throughout the meal. One of the meals the computer wasn't working correctly so the waitress told us we should just leave because there was no way of ordering food which seems strange that it would not be possible to hand write Orders until the computers were back up and running. I actually walked out and asked a manager if he wanted us to leave and he said no; they were able to take the orders until the computers were back up- but the waitress was increasingly rude throughout the meal. We were there at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon for a couple of hours - we ordered drinks appetizers and meal and then dessert and drinks at the end. As we were chatting, the waitress told us we needed to leave because there was a two hour maximum on tables. At this point the restaurant was almost entirely empty except for two other tables. I understand a time limit during peak hours but when we are sitting and continuing to order EXPENSIVE drink, you'd think we would be shown courtesy and graciousness, but we were not. Instead of fighting with an obviously miserable waitress we left.
Last time the waitress seemed very bothered to have to serve us, she plunked our meals down in front of us so loudly and rudely that even the teenagers were asking if there was something wrong with her. At the end she virtually threw the check out on the table without asking us if we wanted anything more or even checking in with us. She kept walking by and looking at the check as if we were taking a long time - We were there for probably less than an hour. Again, the restaurant was not full, maybe at 65% capacity.
This last time I got the short ribs which were pretty good although the meat was somewhat dry, the vegetables were truly excellent. The desserts were pretty good, I wouldn't say exceptional, but definitely not bad . As my previous trips there I would say the food is about a six or seven out of 10 . But not great, kind of a just miss esp for the price point.
Original review : A very beautiful restaurant with great service. The food overall was a just -miss for me. I had duck which is characteristically difficult to cook well, and this was pretty flavorless. Appetizers were okay, but not special .Others enjoyed their meals more . Cocktails on the other hand were fantastic and the views are truly gorgeous. Service was great. Best restaurant in the...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to celebrate our 18th anniversary at the Seaglass. We really wanted the table in the corner, so that we could look down the shoreline and out to sea. Knowing that this table would be a popular one, we made sure that we booked our reservation well in advance with specific instructions for that exact table. We checked in with them to verify that everything was all set on three separate occasions, including the day before we planned on going. Each time, we were told that it was definitely reserved for us and that the notes were in the system for that table. When the day of our reservation came, we arrived 10 minutes early, looking forward to a beautiful view and a nice dinner. They brought us in and tried to seat us at a table on the inside area where you couldn't even see the ocean. We told them that we had a reserved a special table and that there were notes in the system. They became defensive, supposedly looked in the system and then told us that there were no notes of any kind in the system to indicate that we made any type of special arrangements. I advised them that I had checked on several occasions and that the notes were there as recently as the day before. I told them that we wanted to be seated at a table with an ocean view as requested because it was a special occasion for us. The woman that brought us in and sat us said to my wife "I don't know who this table is supposed to be for, but I don't care right now." About a half hour later, we heard the couple who's table they gave us, tell the waitress that our table was supposed to be theirs and they were made to wait a half hour to be seated. That gentleman was also upset because he was made to sit with his back to the ocean. This was supposed to be a enjoyable celebration with my wife of 18 years with a beautiful view and good food. Instead, of looking out at the shoreline, we got to look across to see the couple on a date that was likely seated at our reserved table because the guy either insisted on it or knew someone and didn't bother to do things properly. Instead of an enjoyable meal, we got a nasty start to our evening that was hard to get past for not just us, but likely for the other unfortunate couple that this...

When I say this place is on the water, I mean literally on the water. Looking out the window you see ocean right up to the building below. It’s very soothing watching the surf lit by outdoor lighting. This restaurant is located in a music venue. It’s also a wedding destination… From what I’m told, the exact location where I’m sitting used to be a skating rink.
My serverBlake, a young man, was comical in a dry kinda way and possessing a certain niavate… When I asked him about the history of the place, he starts telling me… So I recently moved up from Florida… At this point you turn and look into the camera as though addressing an audience that’s not in the scene… Quick on his feet and really worked to stay on top of his game. I like him! He made me laugh… But enough about that…
He brings out a bread basket with assorted breads… Pretzel, Olive, Sourdough and the last one escapes me with soft House Whipped butter. And so it begins…
My next course, a Shrimp Cocktail… 5 large shrimps hooked over a bowl filled with Cocktail Sauce and Horse Radish… Lots of Cocktail Sauce which was great because usually you’re left wanting more. I was in the mood for this and it was even better than I anticipated it would be.
I think it’s important to have greens with dinner so with that, the Greenhouse Salad… Hydro Bibb, Avocado, Heirloom Tomato, Pistachio Feta dressed in a Lemon Oregano Vinaigrette… This dish presents itself as huge however once you start it, you realize it’s Bibb, and Bibb is light. Nice touch with the Pistachio. It gave the salad a whole different texture.
At my servers comical suggestion, the main course tonight, Seared U10 Scallops… Lobstah & Mushroom Risotto, Shaved Asparagus, Parmesan and Truffle Oil Arugula… Another fantastic dish! The Lobstah Risotto was loaded with large Claw meat and packed with flavor.
And as with so many nights before this, I finish with a Cappuccino…
Fun night, great Oceanside setting, friendly staff and great cuisine. What more could one possibly ask for? When you come here, tell ‘em Paul sent you and be sure to ask for Blake to be your server. He...
