The location and ambiance of this place can make up for any other shortcomings, so I've bumped it up to 4 stars.
Did you dream of being able to put your laptop on a desk, work for a couple of awesome hours with your feet in the sand and overlooking the ocean whenever you look away from the screen? well the few people who live nearby can enjoy that luxury, but if you're visiting then put your laptop away and enjoy the awesome view and the cool atmosphere any time of the day.
This place is amazing on a sunny quite morning in the fall like when I visited, and would be cool on a busy evening at sunset as well, however, when it comes to food and coffee, don't get your hopes up too high!
I've ordered an Americano and a breakfast sandwich with avocados, the avocados were very tough and under ripe, the regular american coffee they had was a bit too watered down for my taste, and the Americano was good enough but not that great, if it wasn't for its location this place would've certainly earned a lower rating.
Some items are on the pricy side as expected in a touristic area, but some are really affordable, like juices, sodas, and breakfast bagel sandwiches (skip the avocados though!).
Overall, I think this would make a lovely end to a walk on the beach and I would probably visit it again, not only for it's location, but also seeing that it has very little competition for morning customers like me...
Read moreBeachside café with a nice patio and great food.
We came here early on a Sunday morning while taking our dog for a beach walk. Since it was the only place open in the area, we initially thought it might be a tourist trap. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience—it was anything but a "ruff" start to the day.
The café shares a spacious patio area with the Surfside restaurant. Since Surfside was closed during our visit, we snagged one of the large tables on the patio. They also allow dogs (on leash only), which was a major plus. The glass fence at the edge of the patio offered an unobstructed view of the ocean, so it was a perfect spot to soak in the scenery on a quiet Sunday morning.
As others have mentioned, it did take about 20 minutes to get our two burritos ready, but it was worth the wait. We ordered the classic burrito and the Baja burrito. The latter was especially one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve had in a while. The hash browns inside added an extra layer of crispiness that perfectly complemented the classic combo of eggs, avocado, and sausage. The real game-changer was their signature Baja sauce on the side, which added a satisfying acidic kick.
The smoothie and the frappe were a bit too sweet for my taste, but if you’re looking for light food and great views, I highly recommend...
Read moreAn unexpected gem. The food is truly excellent, and there are plenty of gluten-free options. As someone with allergies, I really appreciate this so much. You can tell gluten-free options aren't an after thought, but something they actively strive to include for their customers. The coffee specials are also awesome- I've had an espresso & tonic before and I love them, but you rarely see them on a menu. The espresso & coconut water drink is another special find and it's what I chose- refreshing and just sweet enough. I love that they use honey and cinnamon instead of only sugar. They are clearly health conscious and also their food tastes like real, home-cooked healthy (and not boring) food. Not many restaurants can make that work, but they do! Yum yum yum. Would come back to Salisbury just...
