I hate to give them this review, but, I think honesty is the only way reviews work. My husband and I love this pizza. I have been a customer since 1986 when my husband introduced me to it. Today we went there to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. We ordered our pizza and then tried to find a place to sit by the window but the place was filthy. We stood spinning around looking for a sit where we could eat safely while remaining socially distant and finally had to sit at this weird little table by the bathroom. About five minutes later a family of four came in, ordered thier pizza and they were really put out that they made them clean a table off. Soon afterwards, I heard them talking about "Hank's" pizza, which is my husband's name, but they never called it out for us to pick it up. Another ten minutes passed, I went to the bathroom where during this crisis, there weren't any paper towels or sanitizer to clean up with. When I finished, fully expecting to find the pizza waiting, it still wasn't there, so, my husband went to check on it. When he did, they ignored him until he finally interrupted them talking, they told him they'd be right with him as he waited another minute. When he asked about the pizza for Hank, it was packaged for a pick up so he asked how long has it been done because we've been sitting waiting for a half hour. They LIED and said that it just came out. Needless to say, the pizza couldn't be more colder unless it came out of the refrigerator as I've had warmer pizzas delivered, which is saying something. Out of time, we were forced to eat cold, old pizza basically without anything to drink because that was already gone and what was left was flat soda. We decided to try Lombardi's Pizza as this experience on our anniversary has us not wanting to go back to what used to be our favorite pizza place. An altogether disappointing and...
Read moreHoagie, Grinder, Hero, Sub, Whatever part of the country you hail from, these slang terms translate to more or less the same thing. Piled with cold cuts, cheeses, and brine-infused condiments on a crusty bread loaf, the mouthwatering sandwich has endured as the grab-and-go lunch through generations of American life. The mighty meal of a tailgate party or lazy day at the beach.
The subs at Ponzetti's are built on a foundation of flavorful meats and cheese with your choice of toppings! I ordered the whole Italian sub. The bread was soft, the amount of meat was a bit lacking for my taste, and the seasoning was great. Overall, the Italian sub was good and hit the spot for my lunch craving! I also ordered a small fry to go along with it! Oh, and don't forget the drink being born into a Pennsylvania Dutch household, I definitely had to get us a large Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer!
I'd say overall, this is a pretty good place to get a sub! When you walk in, it looks and smells just like the old Italian sub shops I would go to near Philadelphia growing up.
I couldn't tell you about the pizza other than they looked great coming out of the oven, and people were picking them up left and right! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful while taking our order and dealing with other customers while we were waiting.
So, if you are looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat, stop by Ponzetti's, and...
Read moreI have been an avid supporter of Ponzetti's pizza for YEARS. My dad grew up on their pizza and passed the love down to our generation. They have the best pizza on the Eastern Shore hands down. I am, however, very disappointed with the way they choose to handle delivery. I love ordering the pizza while at work to share with my co-workers, and for the past three times I have been told that it would be an hour and a half wait, and the third time I was told it would be two hours, OR I could come pick it up and get it immediately. I proceeded to notify the associate that that would be okay, I would wait, and he sounded surprised and then said, "...for two hours?" I replied, yes. I am at work. There's no way for me to come get it. He then took my order and told me it would be there as soon as possible. I feel as if they are extending their wait times to deter customers from receiving delivery, and that to me is very sad. I gave the benefit the first two times, but now that it has been repeated AGAIN, I am highly...
